Outrage from New Hampshire! (Sickening! Bush Crashing into WTC)

Outrage from New Hampshire!

Our friends at sister site PoliticsNH.com brought this offensive political cartoon to our attention. It was drawn by Mike Mariand and printed in today's Concord Monitor.

We don't have a problem with those who criticize President George W. Bush. In fact, we've taken a few shots at the Commander-in-Chief ourselves, when we thought he deserved rebuke. But to use the horrific September 11th terrorist attack on the World Trade Center that killed almost 3,000 innocent civilians to make a political point about the president's budget is disgusting. If Mariand were drawing cartoons in 1941, would he have drawn President Franklin Roosevelt piloting one of the Japanese fighter planes that participated in the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor to convey his opinion on an issue of the day?

If you would like to tell the folks at the Concord Monitor what you think about their political cartoon, we urge you to e-mail Mark Travis, the editorial page editor at mtravis@cmonitor.com. (2/8)

You know, I often wonder about person such as this cartoonist...If they don't like to live in the good ol' USA, critisize it's leaders, etc.etc.; why don't they just buy one way ticket to some forsaken land; where I'm quite sure that if he did the same to that regime he would be decimated immediately. GO MAN GO! we will do very well without you......

To whom it may concern:

I do not understand the need to demonize the people you do not agree with. Your printing of the cartoon depicting President Bush flying into twin towers is very disturbing.

The people who originally committed this act hated you, me and the US of A; President Bush does not. They were MURDERESS; President Bush is not. They cared nothing for the welfare of others; President Bush does. Though you may not agree with his means of creating a better America you cannot deny his intentions and this cartoon MIS-REPRESENTS THE TRUTH of those intentions.

Of course this Cartoon does show YOUR true intentions. Your intentions of slim ball politics and win-at-all-cost political agenda. I do not agree with Bush on all things; but I would never liken his actions to Murder and mayhem. Though I am a fair-minded individual with ethics; I think for myself and describe truths. Unlike you, I guess.

my second email

george@nnenews.com Dear Mr. Wilson,

So, it's Family Newspapers of America, is it? Well, I don't think that disgusting cartoon of our President, George W. Bush flying into the World Trade Center is very family oriented.

This cartoon? is disgusting. When I saw it it was as though a knife had been plunged into my heart. My husband and I lost firemen friends in this terrorist attack and for your newspaper to make light of our grief is deplorable.

The hard left (among which it is safe to include the cartoonist) have always considered conservatives to be as malevolent as terrorists. As a former leftist, I know this all too well. They simply can't help engaging in this type of thing. It's what they trade on - it fuels their innumerable self-congratulatory delusions.

This level of hyperbole should surprise no one.

Sure is, but this was reported to them by a website operating in Concord. The picture is an actual scan of the newspaper editorial cartoon.

That was tasteless and not amusing. We all want a laugh, but not at the expense of thousands of families who lost loved ones on 9/11.

This thing is not only vicious but totally without a hint of taste. That's just for the so called artist. For the paper that printed it. Good for the bottom of a bird cage or to house train a puppie.

Its pretty typical of some of the more mindless on the left. How many times have we seen someone or some group on the left completely and erroneously overstate their case by comparing certain conservative politicians to Hitler or the Nazis? Or compare some conservative plan or ideology to slavery? Its just more of the same from the left in that if they cant come up with a logical arguement against something...they invoke memories of some truly evil events or individuals in order to slur an idea or individual that they disagree with. Nevermind the fact that in doing so they completely understate the exact evils they use for the comparison.

So I guess what im saying is...this cartoonist should be ashamed of himself...by using this comparison he takes a big ole dump on the memories of those who died by even thinking in his small, pathetic mind that Bush's plan for Social Security will bring about its destruction much like the events of 9/11 brought about the destruction of the Trade Center and the MURDER of 3000 people. The comparison is both completely off base and truly shameful.
