Now That Bush Has Sold Us Out... What are we going to do about it? (vanity)

Posted on 03/13/2002 2:47:41 PM PST by Michael2001

Well I'm mad and I'm angry, and maybe that's why I can't think of an appropriate response. While all of us were prasing him for how he was dealing with the war on terror, Bush passes this Amnesty Bill, something that not even the sneaky Bill Clinton would do. This is one of the worse Bills to pass through Congress, it will hurt us in many ways, and ten years from now we will still be feeling it's effects.

Bush has, without a doubt in my mind, sold us out for the Hispanic vote. He sold us out because he can take our vote for granted (who will we vote for Al Gore?). Is he wrong? What do we do when the Republicans stop looking out for our interests? Is it time for a new party, or do we work within the party and try to root out the Republicans In Name Only (of which there are many)?

Keep in mind that within the background of America's creation ( the American Revolution ), there was just a small group of us "wretched_patriots", similar to today. Our voices are not crying out for freedom from an evil government. We are making our government, "OURS", again, "a government by the people, of the people and for the people."

We are keeping the light on for you. All you have to do look for it. And the light isn't within any political party.

Do you call it racist when muslims set up their own communities in the U.S.? Do you call it racist when hispanics openly plot to carve out a "homeland" in the U.S.? Why is it OK for everyone except the people who built this country to want their group at the front of the line? Prefering white Europeans is preference. Denying people constitutional rights or calling them inferior (vs different) are discrimination and racism. Have you ever lived in a 90% minority community?

Fox was supposedly a Conservative Party president ---but the Conservative (PAN) party is weak in Mexico and Fox isn't all that Conservative, the PRI and other Socialist Parties are quite a bit stronger ---and PRI controls the Mexican Congress and many of the states and cities. Drug cartels control most of the politicians in Mexico ---for a while I thought Fox was different but things seem to be worse than ever over there ---lately drug lords are executing each other's families right and left. Someone from Mexico today was telling me that Salinas de Gotari is back in Mexico and fully in support of Fox (I don't know if this is true or not). Salinas de Gotari was a former president of Mexico ---right before Zedillo and I think it was in Salinas de Gotari's election or during his term, that Colosio was murdered ---Colosio was a very popular presidential candidate and his death left his party in shambles which helped Fox win.

If George Bush had sex in the Oval Office and then lied about it under oath, would you still support him because he is better than Al Gore?

It's an important question. Thank God Laura's in charge.

It's fine to disagree with the contents of the bill, but at least be honest about what it actually contains... otherwise, with the premise flawed, the debate is useless.

On Hardball tonight, Pat Buchanan said that that bill has given amnesty to over 1,000,000 Mexicans. Is that right?

"Dick Armey says all this bill does is allow aliens who came in on legal visas, whose visas expired because of the inability of the bureaucracy to process their citizenships, to have an extension of time before they are deported.""

Did you see him on FNC, ez? You wrote exactly what Armey said. The INS is incompetant...I hope heads roll. Now it's making sense. CR, hope this helps. I really do wish someone in the Administration had explained the bill before it was up for the vote.

Thanks for clearing that up. I get a little "knee-jerky" on this subject (I even had the pleasure of someone calling one of my posts in this thread the dumbest they had ever seen -- the highlight of my day). I did wonder why Armey and Lamar Smith (my representative) would support it since they both have been quite strong against the amnesty insanity in the past. Thanks for the new perpective.

My name comes from my respect for the wisdom of our founding fathers who established this nation as a Republic with a wonderful Constitution that we regulary ignore at our peril. We would solve so many of the problems we face as a nation if we returned to using the wisdom of the Constitution as a yardstick for governing.

No, Buchanan is never right. I am sure its amnesty for only a few dozen.

Dick Armey told Sean Hannity about 200,000 would qualify. I hope Mr. Armey was careful to know what he was voting for. Until I see otherwise I'm going to believe him.

Does it bother you at all the deals our government is making with Mexico when it is Mexico that supplies most of the drugs coming in? Many of those illegals are part of the drug cartels and they've established a large drug network across the US. It's a joke about borders being secured ---the drugs are still coming over by the truckloads. And a hint in case you ever do want to buy drugs---you'll be sure to find what you want in a neighborhood heavily populated with illegals ---they certainly aren't all here picking apples.

I have read the contents of the amnesty bill as posted here on FR.

Then you agree that the reaction to it has been simple hysteria? I am assuming for a moment that you are rational and can see that the ONE thread that posted the ENTIRE bill completely rebuts the foaming at the mouth idiocy of the other 6 threads that told the reader what was in the bill instead of letting the reader decide for themselves.

"a government by the people, of the people and for the people."

If you're going to quote it, at least get the prepositions in the right order.

We are keeping the light on for you.

Thanks, but I think you've been running into that light one too many times. BZZZZZT!

Didn't we here at FreeRepublic struggle to understand how all these Democrats could still back Bill Clinton after what he did?

Yes, we did. What's your point? You have totally mischaracterized this bill. My question to you is why do you insist on posting false information about this bill -- even after you have been repeatedly been told you are wrong? What is YOUR agenda?

If George Bush had sex in the Oval Office and then lied about it under oath, would you still support him because he is better than Al Gore?

No, I don't support liars OR enablers.

Importing this culture can only invite corruption. Just like importing the Muslim culture spells violence. It's important to look about and make judgements on CULTURES, not "races".

Did you consider the idea that this bill applies only to those who came here legally, but their documention to remain was held up by an inefficient INS?

That is different than what I've been hearing, even by those who were defending the bill. Even if what you say is true, this bill is granting amnesty to people who are here illegally. That does not sound like a good idea to me

Pat was being his "conservative" self, again. It is about 5M illegal aliens. All 'em begging for tax payer hand-outs and wanting to vote for *MORE* Republocrats to receive even more benefits while you work your fingers to the bone to pay the tax bill on April 15.

Who are you Michael Moore? Good grief you don't really expect to agree 100% with GW now do you? I'm a Californian but this doesn't make me want to run out and vote for a THIRD party!

We finally have a president who has integrity and character and is up front about what he is doing and because of a thing or two you don't like you want to get rid of him? Get a life. Life is too short to be so angry.

I'm thankful for such a wonderful president even if I don't agree with him all the time.
