Now That Bush Has Sold Us Out... What are we going to do about it? (vanity)

Posted on 03/13/2002 2:47:41 PM PST by Michael2001

Well I'm mad and I'm angry, and maybe that's why I can't think of an appropriate response. While all of us were prasing him for how he was dealing with the war on terror, Bush passes this Amnesty Bill, something that not even the sneaky Bill Clinton would do. This is one of the worse Bills to pass through Congress, it will hurt us in many ways, and ten years from now we will still be feeling it's effects.

Bush has, without a doubt in my mind, sold us out for the Hispanic vote. He sold us out because he can take our vote for granted (who will we vote for Al Gore?). Is he wrong? What do we do when the Republicans stop looking out for our interests? Is it time for a new party, or do we work within the party and try to root out the Republicans In Name Only (of which there are many)?

Did you read the bill? BTW, the Reagan amnesty was a real blanket amnesty, it covered EVERY illegal alien in the country with NO questions asked.

Does anyone have a link to the document? Being literate, Freepers should have the opportunity to excercise judgement.

Do you really think that GW can outpoll Democrats in the latino vote? Unless he is prepared to act like a liberal, then the answer is no. If he acts like a liberal, and gives away money to interest groups, abandons the principles of conservatism, what good is he?

The funny thing about this is that people are acting like this isn't going to happen if Bush just says no to illegal mexicans. It will happen in the next Rat administration for sure, and then there will certainly will not be a reason to vote for the GOP.

Yup. The blinders in this thread are amazing. The Democrats will open the floodgates next time they're in power, and they'll make sure every new "citizen" knows it was the Democrats that let them in, not those EVIL RACIST REPUBLICANS! But if Bush starts making moves now, they'll come over to our side. Not all at once, but they'll start coming.

It's so funny that Bush, who was supposed to be sooooo stupid, has turned out to be even smarter than many Freepers.

From the DEA: (looks like all your beloved illegals aren't here to pick apples)

Typically, large cocaine shipments are transported from Colombia, via commercial shipping, fishing and "Go-fast" boats and off-loaded in Mexico. The cocaine is transported through Mexico, usually by trucks, where it is warehoused in cities like Guadalajara, Tijuana or Juarez, that are operating bases for the major criminal trafficking organizations. The extremely high volume of vehicular traffic over the U.S./Mexico border allows cocaine loads to be driven across the border and taken to major distribution centers within the U.S., such as Los Angeles, New Jersey, Chicago or Phoenix. Surrogates of the major drug lords wait for instructions, often provided over encrypted communications devices-- --phones, faxes, pagers or computers---telling them where to warehouse smaller loads, who to contact for transportation services, and who to return the eventual profits to. Individuals sent to the United States from Mexico and often here illegally, have been shown to have contracted with U.S. trucking establishments to move loads across the country. Once the loads arrive in an area that is close to the eventual terminal point, safehouses are established for workers who watch over the cocaine supplies and arrange for it to be distributed by wholesale dealers within the vicinity. These distributors have traditionally been Colombian nationals or individuals from the Dominican Republic, but recently, DEA has come upon evidence that Mexican trafficking organizations are also directly involved in cocaine distribution in New York City.

We have not only identified the drug lords themselves, but in most cases, the key members of their command and control structure. The combined efforts of the DEA, FBI, DOJ, the U.S. Customs Service and members of state and local police departments have resulted in the seizure of hundreds of tons of drugs, hundreds of millions of dollars in drug proceeds and most importantly, several significant indictments. In fact, some of the leaders of these organizations---Ramon and Benjamin Arellano-Felix, Jesus Amezcua-Contreras, Vicente Carrillo-Fuentes----have become familiar names in every major law enforcement department in the United States. Despite this evidence, along with the notoriety, these traffickers have continued to evade arrest and prosecution.

The primary reason they have been able to avoid arrest and continue their criminal enterprise is their ability to intimidate witnesses and assassinate and corrupt public officials. Clear examples of this point may be cited in recent efforts to apprehend members of the Arellano Felix cartel and the Cardenas Guillen cartel, based in Tijuana and Matamoros, Mexico, respectively. In Tijuana over the past year, Mexican officials, with support from the DEA, have unsuccessfully attempted to apprehend key traffickers working for the Arellano Felix organization. In November 1999, major Gulf cartel drug trafficker Osiel Cardenas Guillen illegally detained and assaulted two U.S. drug enforcement agents in Matamoros, Mexico, across the international border from Brownsville, Texas.

Methamphetamine traffickers, oftentimes associated with major Mexican organized crime groups, obtain the precursor chemicals necessary for methamphetamine production from sources in other countries, such as China and India, as well as from rogue chemical suppliers in the United States. In fact, Mexico-based transnational criminal organizations have become the most significant distributors in the U.S. of methamphetamine and its precursor chemicals. Several bulk ephedrine seizures destined for Mexico have focused attention on the magnitude of ephedrine acquisition by Mexican organized crime groups. Super methamphetamine labs, capable of producing hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine on a weekly basis, are established in Mexico or in California, where the methamphetamine is provided to traffickers to distribute across the United States.

These methamphetamine organizations based in Mexico also have well established, polydrug distribution networks in place throughout our country. The Mexican trafficking organizations have single-handedly created a new booming demand for methamphetamine, moving it in mass quantities eastward across the country-far beyond the traditional West and Southwest markets.

Heroin from Mexico now represents 14% of the heroin seized in the United States by federal authorities, and it is estimated that 43 metric tons of opium gum was produced in 1999 in Mexico. A recent study conducted by the DEA indicates that as much as 29% of the heroin being used in the U.S. is being smuggled in by the Mexico-based organized crime syndicates. Mexican black tar heroin is produced in Mexico, and transported over the border in cars and trucks. Like cocaine and methamphetamine, it is trafficked by associates of the organized criminal groups in Mexico, and provided to dealers and users in the Southwest, Northwest, and Midwest areas of the United States. At one time, it was commonplace for couriers to carry two pounds or so of heroin into the United States; recently, quantities of heroin seized from individuals has increased as is evidenced by larger seizures in a number of towns in Texas. This heroin is extremely potent, and its use has resulted in a significant number of deaths.

Marijuana from Mexico still dominates the illicit U.S. import market although U.S. experts estimate Mexico's marijuana production at 3,700 metric tons (compared with 4,600 in 1998 and 4,800 in 1997). In addition, during 1999, the GOM eradicated some 23,547 hectares of marijuana (down from 24,200 in 1998). Seizures of Mexican marijuana have increased from 102 metric tons in 1991 to 836.3 metric tons in 1999. Marijuana organizations from Mexico are very powerful and violent. In some places, traffickers from Mexico have established growing operations within the United States. In a recent case in Idaho, DEA , working with other federal, state and local law enforcement officials, arrested a group of illegal aliens from Zacatecas, Mexico. A total of 114,000 marijuana plants, weighing almost 20 tons, were seized. This operation represented the largest marijuana seizure ever in the state of Idaho.

It is important to note that although many of the transactions relating to the drug trade take place on U.S. soil, the major organized crime bosses direct each and every detail of their multi-billion dollar business while situated in Mexico. They are responsible not only for the business decisions being made, but ultimately for the devastation that too many American communities have suffered as a result of the influx of cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana. These powerful and organized syndicates can frustrate the ability of the Mexican anti-drug police. Their ability to place obstacles such as corruption and unlimited resources in the path of police can oftentimes impede investigations. In the past year, none of the major Mexican trafficking organizations have been dismantled or significantly disrupted by Mexican authorities.

The Republican Party drags upon the coat-tails of the Democratic Party. It is just a matter of time when the they invoke the statement that only government workers and immediate beficiaries (upon any level) are the people; the rest of us are mere tax-slaves ... including those new Americans that love the lyrics to, "La Cuckaracha."

Once again, again, and still again conservatives are faced with the situation in which they have been stabbed in the back and pissed on by the very people they have fought very hard to elect, defend, and raise funds and support for. Furthermore, these same law abiding, taxpaying, God fearing solid citizens have been used like a wad of toilet paper and flushed down the crapper by political whores and cowards posing as leaders and the "alternative" to the corrupt and degenerate law breaking liberals and left-wingers. Devoted and sincere conservatives have been disgraced and made chumps of, yet are once again being told by Republican leaders that they have no alternative but to just "eat it" because they are the only real hope for the maintenance of conservative "principles", and to shut up.

In reality, Bush is OUR Clinton because, for political power and continued office, he has delivered us into the hands of our worst enemies, drastically set back the future course of true conservative principles, and basically turned the Republican Party into the Democratic Party. Whereas I was an ardent Bush supporter who fought savagely with liberals and utterly despised left-wing Democrat socialists and commies, my candidate has just chopped my legs off and left me dying on the battlefield to walk away with enemies he has now joined as friends. There is no point in playing this damned stupid game anymore, and Republicans have just lost a supporter and fighter forever. I've had enough of this crap. I've had it. To hell with them and to hell with their BS. After untold numbers of betrayals and retreats, lies and backstabbings, and sell outs and surrenders, I'm f-ing done. Since the Republican Party as a whole clearly doesn't give a damn about the law, the Constitution, or my vote, they can do without me. They better sure as hell have gambled right about having illegal aliens vote for them because they sure as hell have lost mine.

Why no! Nothing like that could happen to the great "Republic of Texas". We've got the Alamo. Why, our motto is "Don't Mess With Texas". We print it on T-shirts and refridgerator magnets and everything. We are the biggest braggarts and chest beaters in the nation. You don't know what you are talking about. Illegal Mexicans aren't taken over Texas. Texas is conquering Mexico. yeah, that's it. That's the ticket. we will just keep telling ourselves that. That way we won't have our overblown pride hurt. Yeah! Thats it.

Do you really think that GW can outpoll Democrats in the latino vote?

He doesn't have to.

All he has to do is continue to get the same support he does now, or improve it a bit.

This is going to happen, why people keep thinking that Bush is wrong for doing this aren't thinking this through logically.

W copping a "mexicans are scum attitude" certainly isn't going to help the GOP when the rats grant amnesty the first chance they get.

Why is it so important to sway latino voters? If the Republicans want to change the shape of the future, it is through education. A voucher system for schools will do just that. As long as we have government control of education, the Democratic clones will be produced. Conservatism cannot win against a tide of brainwashed, bought and paid for voters.

You have some counter-evidence proving the GOP won't lose hispanics as a result of giving amnesty to illegals?

You're right ---Bush is apt to lose a lot of Hispanic votes by doing this ----Hispanics along the border are suffering severely by double digit unemployment and dropping wages. Illegal immigration is not a popular issue, most highly resent the extremely high taxes and dropping life style. The border regions are experiencing a crime wave in the past few years that was non-existent 15 years ago. We never had drive-by shootings here but after the riff raff came in in the late 80s, things have declined.

Tell you what Sinkspur, I'll put my meaningless vote up against you meaningless vote. You think your vote bought you something. And you're right. It bought you more democrat policy implementation than if Al Gore would have been voted in. At least the Republicans would have fought Gore on some of this nonsense. Now there's nobody to rail against the duopoly. Bush can pass every yahoo democratic agenda item absolutely unopposed. That's what I said was going to happen. It's what's has been happening. I said that people like you would defend it. And you are.

You were very truthful. Its sad to see many in the great state of Texas hide its head in the sand over this titanic invasion of millions. Truly sad.

I too stick up for my state, and brag about it. But damn it, I will be the first one to tell you that we are being invaded, and if this immigration "free for all" doesn't stop, it will eventually result in total chaos for the United States.

Yes and when Sanchez becomes governor, people are going to be surprised ---but they shouldn't be. Sanchez will promote Spanish at least to an equal level with English --but I don't believe he'll stop there. He's also promising free health insurance for all Hispanics, and he's an extremist on affirmative action for Hispanics (not Anglos).

I am no longer a Republican but will file Independent.

If you file as an Independent, you will have even less choice, as you won't be able to vote against RINO's in primaries. Good job!

As an Independent you may choose to vote in CA Primaries for Pubbies, RATs, OR Independents. You may NOT vote Green or Libertarian. I'm not sure about Constitution-- no Constitution Primary Ballot. Just say what ballot you want.
