That was my first, before the caffine impression also but the more I have worked with it, the more it seems ok. Still like the old format better though.

I can tell you one thing though. Now that I seem to have it 'customized' for my own preferences, I will never ever delete my freerepublic cookie, in fact, I'm going to go make a 'backup' of it right now!

I would not visit Free Republic at all if it wasn't for the opinions that the Libertarians offer up. It would be extremely boring (like ldot!) with nothing but rah-rah "I agree" comments.

Well then let me ask you a question. Did you check out the "beta" site notice that was up for at least a couple weeks? Did you make constructive comments to help improvement to Jim? That was the whole purpose of the beta site - to give us a chance to make constructive comments.

And finally, those who criticize and complain in this thread - have you either (1) donating to Free Republic monetarily (2) helped out coding the various parts of the cite?

I agree, the libertarians are an energy cell here. OWK, tpaine, harrowup, garbanzo, Lurker, demidog etc. have always been here, and it's a damn good thing. They are far more thoughtful and relevant critics of Bush and GOP regulars like me than the anti-statists.
