STRIP MOM UPDATE: Quit 'Real Estate Job' To Strip, Once Taught Sunday School, Says She Hid Truth!

A private Christian school in Sacramento has expelled a kindergarten girl with only three weeks left in the school year after discovering that her mother makes her living as a nude dancer.

Christina Silvas, a 24-year-old single mom who said she had taken up stripping after her 5-year-old daughter's father stopped paying his share of tuition, was told this week by officials at Capital Christian School that her job violates the school's Christian philosophy of living.

Silvas said she had taken the job at Gold Club Centerfolds when her daughter's father stopped paying his half of the school's tuition. Faced with having to cover the $400-a-month tuition herself, Silvas turned to stripping and quit her real estate job.

"There's a lot of single moms who do what I do," Silvas said. "The money is good."

So...more details shed more light. She says now that she quit her current job and started stripping to make up $200 dollars a month. Folks, that's $50 dollars a week, $10 every school day. Of course, that doesn't include "living expenses," whatever those are, but I would be surprised if the offer of assistance from the school wouldn't cover the $200 bucks for the final month of her daughter's tuition.

I think as time goes on, we will discover the money earned for "living expenses" is the X-factor. Hopefully, Silvas will fade from the headlines before that point.

"I've always been extremely sensitive to the fact that a lot of people, especially those in the church, wouldn't agree . . . so I kept it to myself," Silvas said. "And now everybody knows."

Really...so she knew there was a reason to keep this a secret. Presuming that she took her contract with the school seriously, does it now sound like she thought her activity was in compliance with the school's standards? I think not.

Silvas said she had hidden her job from school officials until this week, when a parent learned that she was part of a radio station's "calendar girl" promotion and called the church. The church checked the station's Web site, which led to Silvas' stripping connection.

That answers one of the questions from the last thread.

Another thing -- in the last thread, in a response, I wrote the following:

If she had sent her kid to public school, this wouldn't be an issue at all. Heck, in public school, a kindergarten teacher could BE a stripper, and no one would care.

Now, we know:

Silvas, who once worked at the church as a Sunday school teacher...

I think that religious schools should be able to distinguish themselves from public schools.

Finally, I wish someone could tell me why no one is hounding the father of the kids as to why he isn't paying the tuition anymore. They're making the school the bad guys. Where's Poppa?

He's on a lower level of Evil White Christian Maleness than the church pastor and council.

Silvas, who once worked at the church as a Sunday school teacher, said she had also been told that she and her daughter were not welcome at church.

As I say, as an atheist I am always pleased when the church drives people away. It's a competitive interest. :-)

No matter what, the kid should have been allowed to finish the last 3 weeks of the school year. How hard would this have been to do? After these 3 weeks the board could settle things with the mom or boot them both.

As long as the mother is not abusive or a junkie or a criminal it's nobody's business what she does. Least of all some pompous fools at the kid's school. And it stinks to take it out on the kid.

Hey, if the church in question also bans politicians, lawyers and corporate executives from attending services and enrolling their children in their school then I have no problem with this so called "contract". If they don't ban people holding these occupations then they need a reality check in the worst way!

She could've just decided to home school instead. That would've been a lot cheaper.

I am a little torn on this one. On the one hand, the school can and should enforce whatever rules they what. As I read from someone else on another thread related to this, I too would not want my child going to this little girl's home, and I would not want to even befriend the mom if my child were a friend of the little girl's. Then I think, this may be the only decent, positive influence this child is getting in her life. She may never get an opportunity to learn these Christian values and morals again if she is taken out. So, I really don't know what the solution is, but I do know her mother is VERY wrong. Did I not read here the school offered to help the mother get another job etc? I would be curious as to what kind of car etc, she drives, and if her dancing is not just for tuition (which I find 400. a mo pretty reasonable), and maybe because we have a lavish lifestyle all together. I don't know.

Idiot! The stripper mom has been on TV and she looks pretty good and undamaged (so far) by her choice of professions.

I am not so sure about this one. It is more gray than black and white. We have a church willingly forcing a family away, expelling a kindergartner from class (weeks from the end of the school year) and a mother, making her living in a sleazy environment to make money to keep her daughter in the 'best' environment. It appears to me that the church missed an opportunity to 'love the sinner but hate the sin.' The mother, seemed to be trying to do the best for her daughter. And let do the math from the other side...$400 per month per child in one kindergarten class (20 kids equals $8,000 per month). Couldn't the church have tried to work out a payment plan for the $200.00 she was missing...at the very least for the good of the little girl.

It is their business what she does. I went to a Chrsitian school for a few yrs and they had the same standards for my parents as this school has for theirs.
