Did the Church say they "banned" her from services? Are all politicians, lawyers and corporate executives (this is telling, that you mention this) acting defiantly in an immoral manner?

The mother took it out on the kid. She quit a real estate job to be a prostitute.

I guess everybody in your profession (if you have one) is perfect.

It is a slippery slope the school administrators have perched themselves on. Just say 'no' to stripper moms...but what about the lawyer mom or dad who is a criminal defense lawyer or a public defender. Are they going to critique their case loads? What about a CPA...will the school appoint auditors to double check their billings to assure that they are not cheating anyone? And maybe there is an MD who is has a malpractice suit filed against them, or the owner of the car dealership who sold the car with the bad tranny...

The list could go on and on. Who in the their administration was really in a position to cast that first stone?

The school is gaving a big fund raiser at the end of the month..The parents are doing a talent show to help raise money for the school..the board was naturally concerned as to what the lady was going to perform...

**"This is not God's plan for my line of work. But this is something I'm doing for a reason."**

Compromising character. What's wrong is right and what's right is wrong.

I know this church and school and know for a fact they would have done much to help her in paying tuition. She could have chosen cleaning a home for $50 a week...jobs are plentiful and certainly more appealing character-wise than stripping.

If she strips 2-3 evenings a week then she's making a heck of alot more than making up a $200 difference. I question the kindergarten fee of $400 per month as well. I'll check on that and come back to the thread.

I side with the school for upholding their beliefs and the agreement she signed.

Well, I certainly don't know for sure, but those look fake to me and implants are not free. She can't play the "single mom struggling financially" crap, go out and get implants etc., and start dancing to pay for them. I don't know that is the case (they could be real, but I would be VERY surprised if so, or she could have gotten them years before). Like I mentioned, I would be curious to see what kind of lifestyle she leads (designer clothes, nice cars etc.,) only for the fact that her claim is she started dancing to make that extra 200. for the child's tuition. I still feel for the child, and wonder if this will be her only opportunity to be in a moral environment.

Did they say Christian school? I think they must be mistaken. The school ought to be sued for false advertising.

The jobs you mentioned, in and of themselves, are not specifically intended to appeal to prurient interests. Although the individuals may be flawed, the occupations themselves are considered beneficial to society. Here in south Florida at least, most strip clubs are controlled by criminal interests, providing an environment for drug trafficking and prostitution. I can certainly see the school's point. There must be other jobs this woman could do if she's that concerned for her daughter. This story is beginning to smell like a Julia Roberts movie.

The school sounds like it's run by Leftists who forgot that they were Christians. Now what would Jesus do?

Consider the source of information for this thread, the SF Chronical. They obviously have an agenda, as they left out several facts.

It's my understanding that the school has waived the $200/month, allowed the child to stay until the end of the year, and offered to 'work with the mother' in the Spirit of Christ to help mom rearrange her life, stop stripping, keep the child in school permanantly, and perhaps waive the tuition for a longer period of time.

They are, however, unwilling to negotiate the stripper issue. For that I applaud them.

Silvas said she had hidden her job from school officials until this week, when a parent learned that she was part of a radio station's "calendar girl" promotion and called the church. The church checked the station's Web site, which led to Silvas' stripping connection.

I see a blockbuster hit movie in this story. I'm thinking "Flashdance" meets "Footloose".

As I say, as an atheist I am always pleased when the church drives people away. It's a competitive interest. :-)

I see you hold the same "competetive interest" as Satan. Interesting for someone claiming to be an athiest.

"Did the Church say they "banned" her from services?"

Silvas, who once worked at the church as a Sunday school teacher, said she had also been told that she and her daughter were not welcome at church.

"Are all politicians, lawyers and corporate executives (this is telling, that you mention this) acting defiantly in an immoral manner?"

Yes, all politicians, lawyers and corporate executives act defiantly in an immoral manneror don't you watch TV or read newspapers?

Since the time of Jesus lawyers have been one of the lowest forms of life on earth second only to politicians as for corporate execs do the people running Enron, Global Crossing or any other corporation for that matter act with any degree of morality? Actually since you missed the above excerpt from the article I guess you don't read newspapers. ROTFLMFAO! Open your eyes more often you just may see the truth!
