It would be interesting to know how many of the other parents go to strip clubs to be entertained. Would their children be expelled? Someone should start spying on all the parents to make sure they are living a the life of the straight and narrow.

Better check their computers too and their homes for pornographic books and magazines. I wonder how many of the other kids' parents are without sin and ellible to cast the first stone?

Couldn't the church have tried to work out a payment plan for the $200.00 she was missing...at the very least for the good of the little girl.

Its not "gray" at all, its not "need", its "greed." She makes a lot better money at stripping. Therefore she rationalizes it away as "ok", at least for now.

Thanks for your input...I took the article at face value. If the church was willing to work out a payment plan, help the mom find a more appropriate line of work, etc., then I applaud the church and highly question the mother's motivation. But, if the truth leans towards the article, and the church, w/o offering any help, drew the line in the sand, then I have a problem defending their stance. Contract or not. The faith that child is learning to live her life by is more important.

Being a lawyer, corporate executive or politician isn't inherently immoral. Prostituting your body is.

There's more than a litle hypocrisy at work here......Remember last year, when the British ladies garden club did a nude calendar..it sold tens of thousands......a bunch of naked middle aged broads....oh please...everyone thought that was "cute"....

You're right about the school, see the link at bottom of post#1 or my post#47. The school offered to cover the last months tuition and help the girl find a good job. The choice was hers. She chose the big bucks that come from stripping over her daughters schooling.

Actually, it is not that much of a stretch. One of my kids goes to school with the child of a criminal defense lawyer. Every now and then we see this person on TV, before a bank of microphones, defending his latest 'client' who more than likely was involved in the latest drive-by, crack deal gone wrong du jour. Now why is this person doing this? Can't he make a living just doing wills, probates and deed transfers? Choices. We all make them. Some better than others. He choses (apparently) to work with lowlife clients, to keep the lifestyle of his choice. Now how is this really any different?

Yeah..as I recall it was a ladies auxiliary garden club from a parish somewhere in central england....these were all 40-60 year old ladies...they posed in pearls and smiles and nothing else......

Yes I do have a job where I earn money without wasting tax dollars or destroying the careers, reputations and life-savings of others for my own personal gain. And no not everyone I work with is perfect. But even the actions of the worst private citizen doesn't come close to what politicians, lawyers and corporate execs are willing to do to get ahead.

As for the church, in light of recent events involving the Church(in general) I think they have other things to be concerned about besides what the people keeping them in business do for a living.

If what this woman does for a living offends you fine I respect that opinion. But then you turn around and defend politicians, lawyers and corporate execs and all it really shows is how much of a hypocrite you are!
