The only answer is to purge and purify the Church of all the Homosexuals and any other perps.as well.

Well, the Church has made the decision to become a queer Church. Don't see that that will be changed. Unless drastic action is taken (doubt that it will), your children are growing up with many, many homosexual (who are mostly actively homosexual) priests. Just don't leave your sons around any priest.

"Worldiness" is the worst kind of weakness. Too many questions on dogma and "should homosexuality be accepted" even when it's not practiced when it should be the question of "Are you following the world, or the Word?" It's obvious what the response to that question is when it comes to seeking "popularity" or acceptance in today's culture. That is the very definition of "worldliness."

We're posting billboards all over this diocese. We didn't have one close enough to the bishop's offices, so the billboard company is building a new one for us.

That's cool. Keep up the good work. I look forward to the day that the diocese dumps Mr. Brown.

What you said.

And at the bottom of it all is one thing: A crisis of faith. They no longer believe.

They stand in greater fear of the judgement of men whom they can see, than in fear of God whom they can't but who called them and will judge them.

This has the fingerprints of American apple pie all over it......

Were that the case then we would not see the same kinds of issues and crimes destroying the Catholic Church from Ireland to South Africa and from Nigeria to Australia.

Knowing how the pill causes early abortion you should be obliged by your conscience to talk about it irregardless of "territory"...if you are doing pre-cana and NOT talking about it you are remiss in your duty. Think in terms of the lives of unborn on your head.

Catholic parishes are desperate for volunteers of all sorts. If you and your wife would like to advise married couples, I suggest you get off your asses and do so.

I'm not going to change the areas of discussion in which we engage, since our parish has specific ways and fora in which pre-marital issues are addressed. I assure you, birth control is discussed at length, but not by me or my wife.

For you to imply that I am somehow responsible for "lives of unborn" because I'm not lecturing engaged couples about birth control is insulting, wrong, and beneath you.

These would be the same ding-dongs who dog-eared their copies of Blanshard's books on the Vatican's similarity to the Kremlin etc. etc.

Hey! Where did I read that before?

Good question. It may also prove rather fascinating to find out why people who don't agree with Catholicism are so attracted to positions of power within Catholic institutions.

It is truly sad, but it is true that the same kinds of infections are spreading world-wide. The church needs strong, steadfast and energetic leadership now. I deeply respect JPII, but perhaps it is time to turn over the mantle to those with the faith and spirit to turn the Church around.

Good news! I was in both "Borders" and "Barnes and Noble" today and both are carrying "Goodbye! Good Men" in hardcover.

But we'll be waiting for an eternity before this book is mentioned in the New York Times or the Boston Globe. Anything but the truth for these venerable newspapers.

It is hubris.

Both of my children are mature adults and have strong reservations towards the Catholic Church and rightly so.

Our church left my son a long time ago and our church is driving my daughter away out of fears for her son and fears of the Criminal priests who are leading the faithful astray. My son in law just became a Catholic about a week before the current Crises created by Cardinal Law Hit the Fan,can't imagine what he is thinking...

I would guess that, like me, he feels embittered and betrayed. Some say that the worst part of the crisis is the sexual molestations (I agree on this, as sins against children are the most abominable.), and some say it's the coverups. But also horrid and soul-rending is chasing so many away from God.

Imagine watching porno flicks in a seminary, instead of reading the bible or praying. This is really hard to believe.

This made me remember an incident from my high school days at a Jesuit prep school. We had a 'religion' professor who was also a freshman homeroom teacher and the head of the 'community service corps' at the school. He also taught sex ed to some of the freshmen. As seniors, we happened to be in his classroom after school one day for a meeting. While there, we looked through some of the books he had on display - ostensibly as part of his sex ed curriculum. They were hardly scientific or biological. They were porn, plain and simple - "how to" manuals complete with photos - and no women in sight.

We just thought they were gross then. If that bastard were still teaching at my old high school today, I'd out him.

Unfortunately, they were in the Christianity section and not in the front of the store. So... I took a bunch of them in both stores and moved them up to the front racks... then, I put the remaining copies of Goodbye! at eye level in the Christianity section (well, eye level if you are 5'2") - they had been on the bottom shelf because they were filed alpha.

Excellent work. I was looking for the book in B&N and didn't see it. I'm going to go back and do exactly as you did (while turning all the Anti-Catholic books spine out). I encourage others to do likewise.

“homosexuality is natural, not unnatural.”

As someone else on another thread pointed out... so is cannibalism and eating your own vomit...
