UPDATE FROM TEXAS! FREEPERS AND FRIENDS STOMP RADICALS WIN THE DAY FOR CAPITALISM!

MAF just called from the front lines of the Meyerson Center in Dallas where the counter protest is in full swing! I'll give you her run down of the Sham Mock Trial that our side totally disrupted last night. Then I'll tell you what's happening right now on the ground in Dallas!

Tuesday Mock Trial

The lefties of the Climate Justice Summit staged a mock trial holding ExxonMobile accountable for "crimes against humanity." As memory serves they stole that little title from Star Trek TNG where Q holds Piccard accountable for same. Nice to know they can come up with an original idea.

Our side gathered early in the day and had 48 people for protest training before loading into vans and heading for the Univ. Texas campus in Dallas. One of the organizers of the counter protest hosted the whole crowd for dinner at her home. What a peach!

Upon arrival at the UT Dallas campus our folks tried to enter the Student Union Center where the "trial" was to take place. The lefties panicked and called the cops who told our folks they would have to leave or be arrested. We had seven people dressed in Kangaroo costumes for the Kangaroo court and over 40 others there to cheer on Niger Innis and others who had asked to testify on behalf of Exxon Mobile. They were of course denied access and were even told by the lefties that "they had scripted the trial and were not letting anyone deviate from the script.

The lefties in attendance totaled a whopping 8 people. LOL so our side had them outnumbered almost 5 to one. At some point one of the lefties offered to let our people sit in the room but our folks declined. Being there would have only made the room look full for the press and we certainly were not going to assist them in their cause.

Our folks left and returned to the home of one of the organizers for cake and sign painting. Thus ended day one.

DAY TWO: EXXONMOBILE PROTEST AT THE MEYERSON CENTER

The day began at 7:P30 am with a head count. Our side had 98 pp and as of 10:30 had grown to well over 100. MAF things it's around 125 but will get a final head count and report back later. While most of our protestors are from Austin, Dallas and Houston there are many who made much longer journeys like Sauropod who came all the way from Baltimore! Sauropod, you rock!

As we were speaking she literally counted the heads of the protesters on the other side -- a whopping 43 people.

The police allowed our folks to set up right outside the Meyerson center and many of the ExxonMobile shareholders attending the meeting stopped to thank our folks for being there and supporting them. They even asked that our folks post our extra signs and American Flags on the fence around the building. It was awesome!

The Lefties:

The lefties arrived at the protest this morning in an old, gas guzzling ford van pulling a U-haul full of props. This is ironic since they are there to protest an oil and gas company that they charge is responsible for global warming and wrecking the environment. MAF was also told by one of them that they would be leaving in a hurry on their gas guzzling bus to get to DFW. They have to catch their jet planes back to Washington and New York. LOL

One of their props is an Oil Pump with card board flames all around it and the American Flag right in the middle of the flames. It's their way of burning the flag without actually setting the fire.

They also have a balloon of the globe with red paint spattered all over it. One can only presume what that is supposed to mean.

Their sign s read:

Solar Power = Solar People Our Planet their Profits

NOW FOR THE GOOD GUYS!

Freepers are joined in this effort by Citizens for a Sound Economy, the Council for Racial Equality and several other organizations.

We have several people in costumes such as Alice in Wonderland, The Exxon Tiger, a Shark and there is even a guy in a Grinch costume carrying a sign that says "The Grinch who Stole Capitalism."

Other signs include:

Oil - You Can't Leave Home Without It; I never got a job from a poor person; Down with Bugs - Up with People; Free Markets = Free People; Radicals Want your Job; Oil - Black Gold, Texas Tea and Stop Global Whining.

They're really having a blast! Great Job MAF for organizing the Freepers of Texas for this one!

Of course they weren't letting anyone "deviate from the script". Leftists can't handle an unpredictable forum such as live debate, that's why they fail consistently in Talk Radio, and why they secretly want to destroy talk radio shows. They know that someone is eventually going to catch them in their lies, so they'd have everything scripted and under their control, like the power hungry socialist maniacs they are. Way to kick greenie a**, TX Freepers!

I won't steal MAF's thunder but will tell you that she has some funny stories to relate once she's back from the airport. There's one about a conversation that Mr. MAF had with a leftie that's priceless. Stay tuned.

It might be a matter of interest to them to know that the energy used to construct BART in San Francisco represents 525 YEARS of their projected energy savings through BART commuting versus the use of automobiles. I don't remember where I read it, but in view of what it takes to dig giant tunnels with smoke-belching drilling equipment and the like, I don't doubt that it's true.

I also don't think you would be able to build something like BART with the type of small-scale technology normally advocated by the lefties. Building rail systems is quite remarkably industry-intensive, using any number of belching, hissing, fuel-guzzling monsters. The "small is beautiful" crowd doesn't seem to like that idea.

I don't think lefties pay much attention to the potential results of their proposals. They just hate what exists now, without trying to figure out what would actually work better.

I can't blame them for hating what exists now. Heck, I hate the fact that I can't afford to move to Via Lido Nord in Newport Beach (typical house price: $4,000,000). But that doesn't mean that by shaking up society I'd be any better off. The only way I become better off is by doing something that, in time, becomes worth $4,000,000. The fact that I have that opportunity is the great advantage of capitalism.

I must flag this for particular attention:

They were of course denied access and were even told by the lefties that "they had scripted the trial and were not letting anyone deviate from the script.
What good is a mock trial if it goes entirely by script? Not much, I say.

For a group of people who say they support dissent, they sure are close-minded - especially, of course, when outnumbered.

Tourists? They hate tourists? Tourists go to the National Parks to take in the beauty...these yahoos want the national parks walled off so they are protected for eternity. I've sat in hearings on the Hill where they preach about the evils of off road bicycles, campers, hikers, personal watercraft...I could go on and on.

They won't be satisfied till we're all living at home burning wood fires and walking to work or not working at all because we're sitting home waiting for the government to send us our allotment checks just for being alive.

The ICC, just what I feared on a related thread. Corporate CEO's will have to answer to this kangaroo court for imagined ills justified by junk science presented by junky scientists!

The Dallas Morning News, in its typical biased, one-sided, distored, agenda-based reporting, posted the following on their web site: ExxonMobil shareholders dodge protesters

Not a word about the pro-Exxon protesters which out numbered the anti-Exxon protesters by 3 to 1. The picture shown was taken from our side.

NOTE: You must register to use their web site. Its free, which is more of an indication of what it's worth.

The local Fox affiliate did a better job:

There is a video clip too, but I couldn't view it with anything I have on my laptop.
