Is there not a video series which parents can purchase, that details the main points of the Revolutionary War and general U.S. History? If anyone knows, please post the information.

Indeed, but how many of our previous generations knew that George Washington was a horrible rashist, Thomas Jefferson was a rapist of the fine Ms. Sally Hennings and that the U.S. was the aggressor in World War II?

Sure, knowledge of The Monroe Doctrine and this Constitution thing is all fine and dandy, but it gravely cuts into time that could be spent on emphasizing the horrors inflicted on the dusky hued by whitey and the evils of a free market economy…

When my son was in forth grade I was shocked to find out that he was learing Asian and African history for the third time and had never had American history. Now nothing the schools do shocks me, as I believe they dumb down kids intentionally.

Our Education system K through Graduate school is rife with anti-American , anti-knowledge ( that's just CONTENT they sneer)political correctness apparently using Brave New World ( Huxley) as a model and an apparent agenda to destroy America and individualism. Our fair city ( one of the sogenannt TOP CITIES) is a bastion of high spending on education, poor results and middle school girls keeping weekly count of how many blow jobs they give because they were shown by Clinton and then validated by their "dating game" teachers that blow jobs are not sex. This is the kind of muddle that IS our education system. Close all the schools of education for a hundred years as the only possible way to get our education system back on track. Put some "content" back into the classroom and take the emphasis on the lowest common denominator and "process" out of the classroom. As an educator, I heartily recommend home schooling.

Every evening as the sun goes down, I hold my 7-month old daughter in my arms by the front door, flick on the light for our Flag out front, and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
I pray that it will always be so, and she will do the same for her childern.

No. You are dead wrong. Kids do know all the essentials that are vital to a healthy life and solid citizenry: how to slap on a condom using their mouths, how to speak ebonics so they can converse with the victims of white racism, know the threat posed by the enemies of humanity being white, male, Christian, heterosexual wage earners, and the beauty of art residing in shitting on a picture of Jesus and pissing on a crucifix, to mention but a few. What more do you want? :)

The Salem witch trials were such orwellian PC attempt that I believe liberals will see backfire on their faces. The US constitution is based on common sense, and, though uncommon, it can easily be figured out and re-studied. Inalienable means inalienable for a good reason. This stuff is etched in our brains, for as surely as there is liberal sin, there is conservative renaissance.

Thanks, that's the one.

The slogan E pluribus unum sums up the strength that is the United States. It is this very strength that the socialist left seeks to undermine by turning our melting pot stew into a mixed salad.

One of the goals of the Communist Party, as stated in the Congressional record of 1963 was to downplay American history and the role of the founding fathers in the public schools, as well as dumbing down the curricula. The whole purpose is to surpress national pride, raise doubts about the moral quality of US gov't and create an unquestioning, malleable following for the leftist educators.

This epidemic of ignorance is due in part to a crowding-out effect. Schools are so busy telling everyone else's story that there's no time for our own. At its 2001 convention, the National Education Association passed resolutions supporting multicultural education and global education. Absent was any suggestion that students should receive an American education.

The more multicultural America becomes, the less relevent the history of America's first 200 years, it's formative, defining era, will be.

What America will become after that is anyone's guess.

Somewhere in the great hereafter, the soldiers of the Continental Army who froze to death in the snows of Valley Forge and the GIs who died in the steaming jungles of Bataan must be weeping.

There's another way these soldiers could look at it: We fought to save a country that would prove so strong that it could survive even though half its citizens were as dumb as rocks. That's quite an achievement.

the National Education Association passed resolutions supporting multicultural education and global education. Absent was any suggestion that students should receive an American education.

And obviously absent is any suggestion that the NEA is entitled to be called an American organization. Their influence needs to be removed from local public school administrations. If it cannot be removed, citizens should respond by not funding public education. Anything is better than inflicting their sick agenda on America's youth.

For those interested in better understanding where these anti-American educators are coming from, see Myths & Myth Makers In American "Higher" Education. Their resolutions and general antics are no accident. They are part of a two generation long assault on our normal patterns of identification and allegiance.

Without a common history this country will not survive for very long. We're raising a generation that has no idea how America was born, what its common ideals were, and the events that shaped it as a nation for two and half centuries. Needless to say Don Feder's right about one thing: the PC educators have done a remarkable job of deconstructing America. After all, the guiding motto in our education these days seems to be never to offend any one. So you can see why our elite prefers our children to be any one but Americans if they can help it. Our country is slowly being erased out of existence in front of the chalk boards and in the textbooks and its not a pretty sight. America? Why I never heard of it.

Ignorance of our past has been carefully cultivated by the educational establishment and the result is a cut-flower generation, severed from its roots.

That is an excellent analogy of the kids coming out of our dumbed down, Marxist indoctrinating schools.
