The recent Mujahir announcement has really put this issue on the table. I've just finished a very comprehensive look at "dirty bombs," including their history, uses, and connection to 4th Generation Warfare. It's intended to be a fairly definitive primer, much more detailed than you've seen at news sites like CNN.

My sincere apologies for posting this in the "Free Republic" area as well. I did not correctly understand the meaning of that designation in the checklist. Future posts of this type will not be sent to that forum.

99% of the effectiveness of a "dirty bomb" lies in the left's demonization of nuclear power and the chemical industry over the past 50+ years.

I haven't read the article, but I think that you are right. A "dirty" bomb is no more destructive than a "clean" bomb. The presence of the radioactive material adds next to nothing to its destructive force. The only reason that this issue is getting the attention that it is, is the psychological terror brought about by a grossly inordinate fear of all things nuclear. A proper understanding of nuclear risks would lessen the fear and therefore the power of these weapons.
In other words, this is one situation where we really can change reality by changing our mindset.

Of course, you are now in "the" database. In any case, nice post.
After you disappear, I'm sure that you'll be placed on the Freeper memorial page.

Excuse me...Can someone point out number two, to me? "They have been used recently in Israel,". I must have been vacationing off this planet and missed something....
