WHICH FREEPER HAS THE MOST CORRUPT STATE?
10/18/ 02

Posted on 10/18/2002 4:42:56 PM PDT by Libloather

The *Crintons supposedly come from Arkansas. They get a head start.

Wisconsin is still dusting off felonies that haven't been seen in decades.

Cally gets even closer to the Chicoms - just because of the earthquakes.

New Joisey? Fegedaboudid...

The *Crintons supposedly come from New York. Uh, oh.

This is really unfair.

If there's ever a 'most corrupt region' thread, I'm sure you'll be the first to be notified...

Michigan has to be in the top quartile.

You've got Michigan's corruption whittled down to a quartile? Since Michigan has two separate land masses, shouldn't that be doubled?

Tommy Thompson, I miss you!!!!!

That makes one of us. Our illustrious Sec. of HHS told fast food joints this week that they should provide healthier choices on their menus. Helloooo!!!! They should provide whatever their customers will buy the most of. Their obligation is to their stockholders, not a clueless bureaucrat.

Tommy is also the one who, while calling himself a conservative, continued to spend this state into a hole that it won't easily get out of. Now McCallum is the one who gets to carry the torch of mess clean-up. Talk about hanging your right-hand man out to dry.

Doyle is the dirtiest of all of them in the news right now. He gets his buddies to press charges against all of his political opposition, yet he's going to cruise into the governor's office doing the very same things he's had these guys charged with (using state-paid staff to do campaign work). McCallum better grow a spine but quick and call this @$$hole on the carpet, or you can stick a fork in us - this state is done.

Believe me, Tommy is NOT the answer.

Illinois will see that bet and raise 'ya five....King George (Ryan) is in heap big trouble over the license-for-bribe scandal that occured while he was Secretary of State; one of the truckers who supposedly obtained one of those licenses hit a van and killed 6 kids on King George's coronation - I mean election day. Meanwhile, most of his top guys have already been indicted.

Meanwhile, King George, the bitter old lame duck he is appears to be granting blanket clemency to all the death row inmates in the State because he put a moratorium on Ole Sparky at Statesville. Doesn't matter if they're murderers or not, he's lettin' 'em go.

Our Attorney General, Jim Ryan, hasn't investigated all of this stuff, claiming the Feds are handling it. Oddly enough, his first name is much bigger than his last name on all the campaign billboards.

Lee Daniels, the top Republican in the General Assembly got nailed for using State workers to perform campaign work on State time. Oh, King George has also been caught doing this.

Mike Madigan, the top Democrat, has a microscope up his ying-yang for giving some State money to an old classmate for some State fair project. Oh, and by the way, his daughter is running for Attorney General.

I almost forgot, the Democrat running for Governor, Rod Blagojevich - and this is on tape, swear to God - he did try marijuana, but was quote "so inept at it" that he doesn't know if he inhaled or not.

Any good Illinois Freepers out there tonight, please feel free to add to this if I've missed anything.

"The *Crintons supposedly come from Arkansas. They get a head start."

An embarassment doesn't qualify as corruption. Arkansas DID get his *ss out of here. Okay, there is definitely no shortage of Rat corruption here, but they are the minority with a lot of power. Most folks here are good, decent people....and largely conservatives.

Just Follow the Money. There is a reason that Wisconsin is the third highest taxed state.

There has been a general impression that Wisconsin had reasonably honest, but perhaps many incompetent politicians that liked to spend money.

When political leaders start to cut corners to win at any cost, then with the money and power comes the opportunity for corruption. If the citizens don't exercise their responsibilty to be informed and be involved in their government, then the opportunity for corruption becomes reality.

I have observed what I feel is gross incompetence and possibly corruption in our local government. Yet it has been very difficult and time consuming for a group of citizens to make a positive change and to provide information to the public.

Part of the problem and perhaps it contributes to the low voter turnout is whether citizens really know the "character" of their elected officials. Some tend to vote for "good looking" and "well spoken" individuals rather than understanding their basic honesty and ability to serve the best interests of taxpayers.

Conservatives need to engage in rational discussions (and educate) to help individuals understand our positions. We need to monitor how our elected officials perform and take action in order to keep a relatively clean government for a free society.

And having a dead candidate on the ballot played so well for the Rats in Missouri that Hawaii decided to try it this time around.
