Great job RonDog, Saundra, Lager, Impeach  Here's just a few candid shots from the rally.

Now lets get out there and register voters and campaign for Bill!

It looks too clean to be a real Dump Truck!

"It's a rental," he said contemptuously.

I'M the character around here, I'll have you no. My pour-truck pails by comparison (although Homer (the truck) is pretty cool). Today I used him as a crane, hauling 150# rocks up an' out of a sixty foot deep ditch with a rope over a tree crotch. Worked great. More rocks tomorrow. God willing, that ditch will be ready for the big concrete pour, hopefully by mid-week. Time's a'running out and the rains are a'comin.

It doesn't have four-wheel-drive either.

LOL! You are a character!

These Freeper Events look like so much fun. I have myself wired up with two new classes and have very little time to do the Fun stuff!

You couldn't get more people than that to show up?
Judging by these photos it looks like the California GOP has a defeatist attitude!
You guys need to get to work there in Sacramento.
O ye of little faith!
We bust our buns to get some quick pix posted online after a LONG day of FReeping - during an INTENSE series of back-to-back-to-back-to-back FReeps over the last several weeks and months - and already you're bitching about what we are and are NOT doing here - based on EXTREMELY limited information. :o)
FYI, from a little LATER in the FReep:

If you'll notice the shot of me ("eGray Hooker #1") posted earlier on this thread - in front of the dump truck - I was just getting dressed (!) I would therefore estimate that most of these images posted at the top of this thread were taken between 12:45 and 1:15 pm - for a rally scheduled for from 1 pm to 3 pm.

1 - There was a HUGE crowd - somewhat later - which we captured MASTERFULLY on video (primarily)
Video FReep reports are MUCH more powerful, but they require several DAYS to process and edit, and therefore do not give the "instant gratification" of still pictures - so you will have to trust us for a little while that this FReep was an AMAZING success,

2 - MANY of the local northern California Simon supporters were out walking precincts and manning telephones - as a part of the VITALLY important "Get Out The Vote" efforts - and as a result were therefore NOT at our rally,

3 - The vast expanse of the courtyard in fron of the South Steps would dwarf a crowd of a THOUSAND!
Note that the "little, tiny" FIRE Gray Davis barely visible in the distance shot upon which you are "judging" - for example - was ten feet wide and mounted ten feet off the ground.

4 - For MOST of this rather hot California afternoon, the bulk of the crowd was off in the shade on either side if the courtyard - out of range of any camera images centered on the podium,

5 - At least a dozen MORE FReepers were at the opposite end of the courtyard, intimidating the four union thugs that vainly attempted a COUNTER-protest...

I do, however, have a suggestion.
Since WE are so busy out there FReeping - all OVER California, day after day after day - so much so that after a while one event blurs into the next, and we do not have time to adequately chronicle our many adventures in anti-Davis, pro-Simon "street theater" here...
...why don't YOU get off your scrawny butt and fly out here from wherever you are, and fulfill the role of our "Simon FReep" historian.

We certainly could use an extra pair of hands out here in the streets - much more than we could use a back-seat-driving Monday-morning-quarterbacking thumb-sucking whiner trying to second guess the depth of our passion.

And I mean that in the NICEST possible way. :O)

BTW, restoreourfreedom (Banned Phil) via comwatch, THANK YOU for these EXCELLENT (if somewhat pre-FReep) pictures!!!
As noted above, the BULK of our images from this FReep are VIDEO-based, and will take some time to process, edit and post here.
BTW, I look forward to the day that we can repair the breach which (TEMPORARILY) separates us - as we have MUCH MORE in common that brings us together, than that which keeps us apart, IMHO. :o)

Well, first of all, no matter the politics, we'll always find a way to support our friends... it may or may not be on Free Republic in the future, time will tell. Still, that's been my humble calling for the past two days. Starting at 4 or 5 a.m. for our folks in Florida I'm doing my small part by bugging the local media to cover them. There are more professional folks with the Convoy taking care of that, but you'd be surprised how grateful assignment editors are when we in California take the time to call.

About the Pre-Rally photos:

Your observation is correct - The timestamps are as follows:

Your Impromptu Dump Truck Dressing Room shot taken Yesterday, October 19, 2002, 12:49:34 PM

The Capitol long shot taken Yesterday, October 19, 2002, 1:52:42 PM (Love those computer timestamps)

I think the CHP OCaPS Control room enjoyed the rally too... they will never admit it however... but you had more cameras on you than you'll ever know. :-) Someone else wrote about the remodeling of the South Entrance and reason why. I was on scene that night, before the grounds were locked down. It was a disturbing sight, not unlike the Unibomber crime scene I covered live on the internet from the hood of the sector sergeant's cruiser. Your Capitol city has seen many horrific events in the past few years and seldom has the mainstream media told the whole story or dug into the real facts. We have... if I survive Sacto, the book will read more like science fiction... but then again... Gray Davis is Governor ain't he!! For a few more weeks, that is!

re # 45:Man that is awesome, I'm so proud of you guys, I can see that even the MAN showed up! (JR)

If I can get my broken old bod to cooperate I am gonna show up at the Thermal Freep today for a few minutes anyway. I know you are probably too pooped to make it but I will be able to shake hands with some of the other Freepers.

Well, RonDog and I probably are too pooped to make it, but we'll be there anyway.

Thank heaven for 7-11 coffee!

The drive to Sacramento wasn't really that bad. I-5, once you get out of Los Angeles, is really smooth, and the drivers seem to improve as you leave the big city.

The Capitol looked very nice, and with all the renovations going on outside, it's really ready for some new blood INSIDE!

Boy, I really want one of those three-eyed fish costumes!

In the pic at post #45, I'm the eGray hooker in the far left. RonDog is the eGray hooker in the center of post #45 and in the pic at the top of this thread getting out of the dumpDavis dumptruck.

Thank you for showing up, "Tony in Hawaii", all dolled up in your Sunday-go-to-meetin' duds. You brought some well-needed class to the gathering. Hope to see you shine in the video. Glad you made it home safely. Today (Sunday) Lager and I drove to Fresno to run a few errands and then drove back to Sacramento. All that driving. The sacrifices we make. (You know all about it.) For victory & freedom!!!
