Burt Convy died early too. When will Oliver Stone make a conspiracy film about how the Little Rascals (and those who associated with them) were bumped off?

And Robert Blake from Nutley, NJ, is in a cell waiting to be tried for killing his wife and others from LR have been murdered too. Seems many of the actors were cursed or something.

It's a shame that now they don't show them on TV anymore. I used to enjoy them as a child, but now I heard that Bill Cosby bought the rights to them, so he could prevent anyone from seeing what he decided was racist content.

They were a part of American History.

There were largely 2 owners of the shorts (which is why they are known as Our Gang and Little Rascals).

Ted Turner acquired one of them I believe.

AMC (American Movie Classics) has been showing some of them on tv (I do not know if they are uncut).

I watch them on laser disc. I don't have a complete set of the released shorts by any measure but the 3 boxed sets (several hours each) are a good start.

I'd like to see several releases to make a complete collection.

Owning things like this on video guarantees that regardless of the political correctness climate (or popular media fads), I can still watch the entertainment that I enjoy and not the modern remake.

I didn't know Cosby had bought the rights to the Little Rascals...that's too bad...I think they still show re-runs of them on AMC during the afternoons on certain days (maybe now that he bought them, they might have been pulled). I had caught a couple re-runs a few months ago.

I own a 4 dvd set (not the greatest quality and fuctionality) but I watch it once or twice a year. It is great stuff. I guess you better get it while you can.

If you've ever wanted to hear the jazz/orchestra music from the Little Rascals shorts, the Beau Hunks Orchestra have recorded amazing recreations of the different cues on 2 CDs (also available as a boxed set).

KOCH appears to have Windows Media Player samples of all the cuts from volume 2:

BEAU HUNKS / On To The Show - More Music From The Little Rascals Shorts

The Beau Hunks have also recorded several volumes of compositions by Raymond Scott and some other interesting composers (some have been released on Basta).

Volume One is my favorite but they are both worth seeking if that is your thing.

My hero, "Spanky" McFarland, was a successful Texas businessman when he died of a heart attack in 1993 at age 64.

I just ran across an early Cheers rerun on Nick at Nite the other night - Spanky did the opening 60-sec bit before the theme song . . . . something about Cliff challenging him about being Spanky, he denying it due to Cliff being so boring and intrusive.

I thought I'd seen every Cheers episode at least 10 times, but I don't remember ever seeing this bit before. It was kinda cool.

Ahhh, Cheers. Some of the snappiest writing ever to hit the small screen.
