FoxNews slams Military: Major Label of Sniper is "Army Vet" NOT "Islamic Sniper"
Fox News, 01:00 AM (NewsBreak)

Posted on 10/24/2002 10:18:49 PM PDT by xzins

This is outrageous!

The truth is that

1. Islamics blew up the World Trade Center
2. Islamics blew up a wing of the Pentagon in which many members of the ARMY died.
3. Islamics blew up the USS Cole in which US military died.
4. Islam is the issue with Al Quaeda and Bin Laden.

This man is JOHN MUHAMMED, an Islamic who was "sympathetic" to the 9/11 terrorists.

He's been out of the Army for years. He never received specialized training in sniping in the Army. He DIDN'T MAKE IT in the Army.

But the lead is: "Army Vet"

As a 20 year Army retiree, I deeply resent this, but I resent even more the politically correct culture that makes it impossible to call an islamic terrorist an islamic terrorist.

Right after the henious events of 9-11, a poll was taken in the ME. It asked the question, did America deserve to be attacked? 33% said, YES! Recently, the same poll question was asked in the ME, once again. Now that figure has jumped up to 50%. It was debatable in late 2001, whether or not Islam was a religion of hatred. I think today, there's no doubt, Islam is considered by many people, to be a religion of hatred. This is especially true when one considers how ME Muslim's react towards the US, today. I waited a long time, to see if there would be a strong condemnation by Muslim's worldwide. So far, dead silence.

Interesting assessment. Still, one of the things that bothers me is the type of journalistic editorialism that headlines imply. It's just as much as what isn't said as what is said. Bad cess to Foxnews, or anyone else, who takes the wimpy way out and slanders the military, of all people, for this.

I maintain that while his Army training is pertinent, it is more of a footnote, they are constantly harping that he is an "Expert" badge holder. Anyone who knows anything about the Army realizes this is No Big Deal (TM) - trust me, I'll leave it at that. The media also seems to imply that merely being stationed at Ft. Lewis is somehow enough to qualify one as a "sniper", even though the offending turd wasn't even remotely involved with this type of training.

FAR more "interesting" and crucial is the fact he converted to Islam, changed his moniker, sympathises with the 9/11 hijackers, rode shotgun for the NOI, etc. etc. etc.

The guy is a Traitor, plain and simple. A military tribunal wouldn't be out of line for this guy. He is in both name and spirit, an islamic terrorist. Now, if there are any good reasons why we should not call an islamic terrorist an islamic terrorist, I'd sure like to hear them.

Muhammed joined the National Guard in Louisiana at the age of 18. He served there for 7 years until he was 25. From age 25 to 34, he was active duty military. From 34 to 35 he was a member of the Oregon National Guard. He left as a buck seargent, but he was in the military in one shape or form for 17 of his 24 adult years.

Again, his islamic conversion is most assuredly his impetus for being a psychotic murderer, but to say this guy was a vet is accurate. He was wearing a uniform during the Carter, Reagan, Bush I, and Clinton administrations.

>>>Sorry bud, you want to play sissy tiddlywinks, go to another forum. Say stupid crap that spits on the military, and I WILL jump on your $#!+.

You've jumped my shit for no good reason. I said nothing stupid about the military, a-hole! If anything, I was merely defending Fox News, who has been the fairest of all media outlets in its presentation of America's military.

So take your frustrations out on someone else.

RE Your # 61

Islam is being viewed as a religion of hatred because those of "Islam" are committing crimes of hatred, and *gasp* of profiling. Profiling against US, the "west".

Islam did this to itself. Muslim's did not police themselve's, now WE must. Now, the rest of the world pussy-foot's around, while Muslim/Islam fester's in it's backyard. And most that condmended us formally, now must deal with the egg on their faces. I'm eager to see what Russia is going to do, aren't you?

I'm with you guys. He is:

1)Black
2)Muslim
3)A failed soldier
4)A father
5)A divorcee
6)A chickenhawk (in all likelihood)
7)A democrat
8)etc., etc., etc.

And how do they choose to portray him? As an Army vet!

Makes me want to spit!

If he were a failed college student majoring in the performing arts, IS THERE A CHANCE IN HELL, they would characterize him as a former artist?

Nope. He's an Army vet.

Grrrrrr . . .

I did not understand why Travis was angry until I went back to #3 and read what you said. I'll be nicer(a little)!

You don't seem to understand that the time for understanding is over!

The PC bullcrap is killing us! Literally!

The INS had one of them and let him go pending a hearing nearly a year ago! The friggin hearing was scheduled for next month. What a joke.

The fact that he may not be directly connected with Alqaeda is meaningless!!!! He is a self appointed defender of Islam. A Islamic soldier of death!!!! You will never connect him to any country or group. You might hear someone say he said something. That's it!

We are surrounded by these folks and they will support these demons with their collective silence, a car or a buck or two. These bastards are fighting for and as they see it, protecting Islam!

And,,,,they will not stop until each and every on of us are converted ...............OR DEAD!

We had a drill at Ft Knox who didn't like the rules about busting out trainees. They'd changed.

He would wait for ftx week and walk the little tent city every night and accidentally trip over the ropes of the tent of a private that he wanted to hurt. He fall into the tent and punish the kid.

It happened once to often and we nailed his @ss.

He wasn't one of us. He was a mean-hearted SOB instead of being a dangerous warrior. There's a huge difference.
