Hi Everyone. I put a mini Freep into action today at the largest Veteran's Day Parade in the USA. So it seemed only fitting that I should lurk no more and share with you all.
My 11 year old son and I went to the Parade to pay our respects. My Dad's cousin Maj. James Carlton was MIA in 'Nam. My grandfather was in London during the Blitz. (He came home a changed man for sure.) My Uncle Earl was a Helicopter Gunner in 'Nam. He was my hero! He died after the war.
We also wanted to pay our respects to the Veterans in the parade, the Gold Star Mothers and the active duty folks.
Imagine my surprise when up the hill comes (lame duck and fighting it) Democratic Gov. Don Siegelman. I was just plain shocked! (Some of you folks probably know what's going on here in Alabama. Rep. Bob Riley won the race but the Demorat Don is claiming it for his own.)
From somewhere in my memory, from lurking here, came the words, in the form of a yell "Get out, get out, get out of Riley's House!" It felt good, it felt right, and it just kept coming! My son and I had a seriouly loud chant going for almost a half city block!!!
At first he couldn't make out what we were saying, he was just looking at us and smiling. We were the first to recognize him and we were yelling, jumping up and down. But sad to report, his face fell when he made out our cheer!!!
At this point, most people hadn't recognized who he was. We were standing at the beginning of the parade route, before the viewing stand which announced the participants. But when some of the other more urban folks saw what was happening, they tried to drown us out.
But to no avail. We just walked down the block, till we had others cheering with us!!!

I don't know how to do html here, but some of the information regarding this Rat is at www.al.com. The Mobile Registar is the only paper that has seriously looked at Seigleman's misdeeds.

It had to be done. Some people were looking at me funny, but that man has had a Freep coming for years.
I do worry some that when the Dem.'s are history, say if Pelosi takes over and drives the party way to the left, who will stop the power grab by the Republicans?
I believe that they are more trustworthy than most Dem's, but power does tend to do funny things to people.
What do you think?

Hi there! Are you grafted by the engrafted Word which is able to save your soul? One of my favorite verses!
I love Montgomery. Because when I hit Montgomery I know I am about 1/4 of the way to Fort Morgan!!!!
Thanks for the howdy!

Yes, but don't they need to at least start peeling back some of the Democrat people and policies that Bush left in place?
I sure would like to see some of that happen. I wish Jeff Sessions would get more involved in calling for some INS overhauls.

We'll be lucky if Lott refrains from performing a monica on Daschle on national tv.

Give them time haha.....let the senators get sworn in.

Good work though! I wonder if he was just confused or if he actually made the link between he and Gore?
It takes courage to put yourself right in front like that. Welcome aboard.

You did a great job of making your (and our) voice heard today. That's what it takes to turn our country around: Citizens speaking out loudly and publicly against corrupt politicians.
"Get out of Riley's house!" It brings back fond memories....

It did take some courage at first. It was at the head of the parade, and no one had started cheering very much, it was almost quiet. But once it started rolling, it was all she wrote!!!!!
He did look over at me, my son and I were jumping up and down waving, and his face fell a little when he heard us. I felt a tiny bit bad, like maybe I was acting like those cretians who booed Ventura and Lott at Wellstone's campaign memorial party. But I got over it. :-)

Maybe that 50/50 stuff the Dem's keep talking about will keep the GOP in line.
Not that I believe the 50/50 stuff!

Kristinn, I have to give you so much credit, and the Washington Chapter. I read all of those posts and always wished I could get involved at that level. See, you folks were influencing people you didn't even know existed!!!!
