I have seen the "black traffic swagger" myself on numerous occassions. It is usually young black men who just walk, as if blind, into traffic with a gangster jaunt in their step. It is crap. I am a rather big white man with battle scars from a mispent youth on my face and I always make a point to run right up to them and get them to jump or look. They give me the stare and I stare back but they are cowards. It is actually an attempt to exert the bad ass reputation that blacks have on the popular mind of timid whites. Most of the black kids who do this traffic walk crap are scared kids who have never been in a fist fight in their lives.

One of the reasons I think the Left was so successful back then was because they were so action oriented while the Right wing students were seen as rather staid, stuffy bookworms who didn't have the courage to fight for their beliefs. They were seen as tea drinking elitists whose idea of a good time was mingling at the Sharon estate with Bill Buckley and his YAF crowd.
I went and looked up the whereabouts of some of the more notorious student radicals from the late Sixties, and surprise-after telling all of us middle class students that the only way to be authentic was to join the PROLETERIAT,they almost all became academicians, attorneys and journalists.
None of them would ever be caught dead behind a forklift or welding torch!

If victims we're choosen randomly we'd expect about 75% of all crimes committed by blacks to be committed against whites since whites compose about 75% of the population. Obviously that's not the case.

The black underclass commits most of the black crime, and they live in mostly-black neighborhoods. Most homicides by blacks are committed against other blacks.

I just took a gander at that FBI table. There is no "Hispanic" category even though they are second largest prison population after blacks.

The FBI puts "Hispanic" into the "white" bucket when counting crimes committed by hispanics, but into a "Hispanic" bucket when counting crimes committed AGAINST Hispanics.

So a white-on-hispanic crime would get counted as "white-on-hispanic" crime, hispanic-on-white gets counted as "white-on-white", and hispanic-on-hispanic counts as white-on-hispanic. Makes sense, doesn't it?

California breaks out Hispanic arrestees into their own group, and we see that Hispanics account for 43% of California homicide arrests.

I've read in a couple of places, but never verified it, that if an Hispanic is the perp, then it goes into the white category. If the Hispanic is a victim, then there is a separate Hispanic category for that????

Hispanic offenders are classified as "white". It's in the FBI Uniform Crime Reports

[from linked article:]The FBI's "Hate Crime Statistics" for 1999 show that 2,030 whites were arrested that year for "hate crimes" against blacks, compared to 524 blacks who were arrested and charged with a "hate crime" against whites.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, blacks make up 12.8 percent of the population -- or about 35.4 million of the country's 280 million people -- so, given the arrest rate versus population percentage, the data indicates that blacks are one-and-a-half times more likely to be arrested for a "hate crime" than whites.

Since Blacks make up a disproportionate total of crime arrests, and given the relative numbers of black-on-white versus white-on-black crimes, a Black is much less likely to have a crime against a white classified as a hate crime than vice-versa

A few reasons why "Ithaca is the City of Evil":

A few reasons why "Ithaca is the City of Evil":

Originally called "Sodom" in frontier days, and home to Lucifer Falls, Ithaca is host to two colleges, Cornell U (aptly nick-named "the Big Red") and Ithaca College (which flies the gay flag over its campus), the two major employers in the area. They insure that a disproportionate amount of "ivory tower liberals" dominate the city.

Here are few typical Ithacans:

Locating copies of National Review or the American Spectator requires a trip out of the City, while Ithaca magazine racks remain well-stocked with copies of The Progressive, and The Nation. Readers interested in exposing themselves to a full range of national opinion are simply out of luck.

As a result of this dominiance, politics in Ithaca runs the gamet from "liberal" to "communist."

For years, the town had an openly socialist mayor. They later elected him to the school board.

Even today, the City and County governments are dominated by democrats and Green party members. Ithaca is so "Green" that Ralph Nader got more votes in Ithaca than George W. Bush, and the NYS Green Party held its 2002 nominating convention there. The current Chair of the County Legislature is a radical former anti-war protester, self-described hippie, who says "My values haven't changed, just my tactics."

As a result, we get lunacy like spending $500,000 to install solar panels on the new library (in cold, dark, upstate NY).

Even law enforcement is subject to political correctness. The outgoing police chief's major concern was "pushing for departmental diversity." The acting chief was chosen simply because they wanted a woman, and now spends her time attending topless protests .

To make matters worse, the liberals who dominate Ithaca work overtime to impose their ultra liberal agenda on the area children. As the local newspaper recently put it, “In most places, youngsters spend their summers camping, or at the mountains or the beach. In Ithaca, they learn how to become social activists.”

The School District has mandated that elementary school students in the first and second grades be graded on how well they "respect others of varying cultures, genders, experiences, and abilities." It's even listed on the schools' report card. Despite this alleged tolerance, a student who was found reading the bible on her lunch hour was chatised for doing so. Another was directed not to bring a book about Christmas to school.

There's even a taxpayer funded "alternative" (ie, hippie) school that let's students graduate in majors like basket weaving and political activism, and invited convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal to be its graduation speaker .

These schools churn out "educated idiots," who are so liberal, they write editorials that argue "Bin Laden is Human too."

Need more proof? Do a search for "Ithaca" here at FR. You'll see a near daily dose of institutionalized, unfettered, liberal idiocy.

As a result of its unfettered liberalism, Ithaca was voted most enlightened (ie, liberal) city in America by the ultra left Utne Reader. As a good, conservative Freeper, I'm sure you'll agree that, contrary to what Utne says, "liberal" is not "enlightened." Unfettered liberalism is, well, evil.

As the most liberal city in America,"Ithaca is the City of Evil."

Liberal does not mean enlightened, quite the opposite. Ithaca gets quite a bit of compitition from Berkley, San Francisco, Madison, Key West, and Cambridge

That's interesting to know, I always thought that's about where they ended up. I think some must have become doctors, too, as the AMA seems to have a definite leftward tilt these days. Rabbis and priests too, I guess.

I agree that those radical types are always drawn from fairly well to do families, and wish to continue the well to do lifestyle, it seem like this has been true even of people like Karl Marx (son of a Rabbi), Vladimir Lenin (son of a nobleman) and Fidel Castro (son of a plantation owner). I just looked that up. As for the actual poor or "proletariat," I believe that while they are happy for authority to confiscate wealth and "redistribute" it to them, they also dream the (politically incorrect) dream of being wealthy themselves one day.

Yeah, it was definitely uncool to be on the right in those days, if you were a student. I believe Viet Nam was a factor that helped the Left back then, also, as well as their "attitude." And I remember that the Left favored the Arabs then, as they do now. 'Course that horse doesn't run as well in today's race, but they've still got it out there anyway.

I personally considered myself a "liberal," in college, though I disliked leftist doctrine. I wasn't paying enough attention to see that liberal and left had become the same.

What river does Riverman inhabit?

Liberal does not mean enlightened, quite the opposite.

You know that, and I know that.

But when Utne uses enlightened, what they really mean is un-enlightened liberalism.

So, according to Utne, Ithaca is the most liberal city in American.

Therefore, the City of Evil.

Because if you earn your own money you realize you can do a better job of managing it than the government.

That's for sure. I reckon those radical types only like authority when they are it.

I'm not sure how reliable this information is, but it seems to be pretty sound. Go about halfway down the page until the statistics come up in red.

I wish engineers did politics!

I are an engineer.

I were also a delegate at the 2002 Texas GOP Convention.

Just went back and read the whole thread...read your post about the City of Evil. I'm nauseated. They have their own little workers' paradise...I don't see how these places maintain their reputations as top universities.
