[history]
There's a lot to think about this week--the rise of Nancy Pelosi, the meaning of the Republican triumph--but my thoughts keep tugging toward a group of people who are abused, ostracized and facing a cold winter. It's not right what we do to them, and we should pay attention.

And you do not. The term psychosomatic come to mnd. And you are so brain-dead and addicted and ignorant. That is why smokers will be relegated to less and less space. Your attitude will force more and more laws.

They are not exaggerations. Until you realize the problem, society will continue to relegate you to less and less "freedom" to smoke. Get with it and stop blaming the messenger but listen to the message. I don't smoke. It wouldn't bother me one whit if every smoker quit tomorrow - in fact, I'd be pleased as I don't care for the activity at all. But I realize that nazis like you won't stop at smoking - oh, maybe you personally will, but the others will be all the more encouraged. They'll keep pecking away at liberty till there is virtually none left.
There are plenty of people in the world that would like nothing better than for half the human race to be restricted to appearing in public in head-to-toe tents. And they believe it's all for the best just like you. You are cut from the same ideological cloth, you just differ in what you want to restrict.
As for smoke making you physically ill, either you're the rarest of the rare or a big fat exaggerator.

We're not going away and the pendulum will swing and the backlash against you nannies is not going to be a pretty sight. But your numbers are dying off. Of course, you like to recruit the kids since that is where MOST smokers start smoking. Shame on you.

My husbands uncle died at 81. He was a life-long heavy drinker, overweight and he smoked but according to everyone else it was the smoking that killed him. LOL

I am not prejudiced against non-smokers. My cell mate doesn't smoke and he's a heck of a gal, just like you.

But your numbers are dying off. So are yours - in fact more non-smokers die every day as do smokers.

I can't stand the smell of alcohol. It makes me want to puke. Does that give me the right to tell you you can't do it? Alcohol has destroyed alot more lives than smoking ever could. If I don't like the smell of it...I just leave the room, after all it is a "free country", or is it?
To: cinFLA
Not to everyone but more than enough. Enough to what? Destroy liberty? Sadly, you may be right.

LOL!

watching guys pee outside the buildings"watching?"
To: cinFLA
Your attitude will force more and more laws. My attitude, indeed, the vast majority of what I post is with the intent to promote liberty. And that strikes you as me "forcing" more and more laws. Weird. A call to liberty prompts a response for greater regulation. How 11th century. Kinda like the husband who asks his wife why she keeps forcing him to beat her.

"...pursuit and capture between the sexes, seeing losers vomiting all over the place, and watching guys pee outside the buildings after closing time didn't capture my thrall.."What were you doing watching men pee? Did you watch long, or longingly? What was the down side, they had body hair, or werent boyish? And what do you have against a meat market, save the girls getting all the good looking boys?

" Why wouldn't that be a civilized and acceptable compromise? " The left knows nothing of this.

Ok, I'm not a smoker, but smokers DO NOT recruit new smokers. Most people could care less what others do. Most smokers I know would tell young people NOT to smoke. To accuse smokers of recruiting is foolish. How does it benefit a smoker to recruit a kid to smoke? It doesn't. Don't get hysterical here, it costs you credibility.
To: Republic of Texas
smokers DO NOT recruit new smokers. Good point. I owe my non-smoking status to my dad, a smoker, who warned me against tobacco's addictive nature. I made myself a promise more than 40 years ago not to smoke and happily kept it.

watching guys pee outside the buildings "watching?"
Why, oh why, do the self-appointed babysitters find it necessary to fabricate in order to make their point? Are facts never sufficient?

Most smokers I know would tell young people NOT to smoke. Most smokers I know would tell young people NOT to smoke. We even have FR's on here saying smoke is good for kids!
