The Left attack our cultural and economic institutions; tobacco is an easy target.

Earlier this week, I saw an obit in the NYT that mentioned a woman's lifelong heavy smoking in the first sentence. Because of it her life was cut short by emphysema at the tender age of 84. Earlier this week I saw a story about a man that had throat cancer. He wanted to tell how his lifelong smoking habit was to blame but he could no longer talk.

I propose that drinking coffee be banned because of the time those people waste talking to each other and coffee breath disgusts me. Lets take this insanity a step further. Lets ban babies in public because their little butts sometimes get messy. We have it so easy that all we have to worry about is junk like this.

Keep in mind that it's these same Kalifornians that passed Proposition 215 in 1996 that said it's OK for sick people to smoke marijuana wherever and whenever they want.

"I just wont be told what to do in my own home by them."
This makes you the authority figure in the home, which is what you are supposed to be. Those who let the kids be 'in charge' aren't doing their kids any favors.

So, you accepted the ploy from school.....Smoking will kill you....run home and brow beat your father to expedite his death by moving to the; unheated porch?. What a fine idiotic selfish child.....

I'm sure there are smokers out there who don't take 30 minute lunches to make up for their smoke breaks, but there are plenty of non-smokers out there who sit around in each others cubicals and chew the fat, so it all evens out.

When your too spineless to cut spending, stick it to smokers and claim it's for their own good.

I don't agree with the anti-smoking Nazis, but smokers really do waste a lot of time on their smoke breaks, and there's a reason that they were moved outside. Hmmmm you don't agree with the nico-nazi's, yet you want smokers all outside to take their breaks. Well, let me tell you: when smokers were allowed to smoke at their desks, they could sit there for hours, and not take one break. Not even to go for those donuts and coffee!

You are right on. All most smokers really want is to not have to stand outside in raging winter winds or pouring rains. It would be nice if there was a room for us to go to.
I work for a large corporation in a 'campus' setting. There are covered walkways between buildings. Do you think the smokers could stand at the edges of these covered walkways when it is raining? Oh, noooooo. They have to stand on their little cement pad which is situated in such a way as to be most exposed to the wind and rain. Of course they do this to try to 'encourage' people not to smoke. When it's really bad, we go over to the parking garage to smoke. Takes a minute or two longer in travel time, but hey, that's their fault for not providing us a sheltered area.

Either way...I'll challenge anyone to prove smokers are less productive than non-smokers. And, furthermore...I challenge the liberal lie that smokers cause such a tremendous impact/burden on the health care system because they choose to engage in a practice that is still legal! AMEN BORISBOB! I, too, will challenge ANY Liberal telling ME that I, as a smoker, cost anyone ANY extra money! We have our own health insurance, thank you!

Sure there are people who are hurt by smoking. There are also people killed driving cars. What's your point? Should we all hide from everything all the time because something might happen?

My dad smoked, and I begged him when I was a child to stop. When "I" was a child, my parents begged ME not to start! LOL! How times change.
