No offense, but Rush has always been mainstream. The media are the ones who are goofballs. When are they coming to their senses?
Why did I say this? Rush has been a unstopable force for 15 years. Where has the media been? This man has been ignored for a decade in a half in hopes he'd fade away. Rush is the rock and they are fading away.
Perhaps this is what you meant, but Rush isn't going mainstream. It's just that the mainstream media has given up driving him out of business by refusing to give him television exposure.

I like "Kudlow and Cramer" weekdays at 7:00PM Central Time... Kudlow and Cramer is an excellent show. Here in CT, it runs on CNBC at 8PM, opposite O'Reilly on Fox News. We find that the more O'Reilly focuses on subjects like "porn rings on college campuses" and "thong alerts" (or whatever he called them) the more we tune into Kudlow and Cramer.

And the democrats hate it! Tonight I visited DU for the first time. I can't believe how much they hate Rush. I dare say they hate him more than we hated Clinton. I have to laugh though, because Clinton is gone now, (at least one of them is...), but Rush is always here!

Thanks for reminding me. I wanted to check DU but forgot. Thanks Dear.

Rush and Russert have always gotten on well. There is definitely mutual respect there. Thanks for letting me know .. I wish I could see more of it with other guests .. All I ask for is to be fair and balance and let me make up my own mind

I don't like to call them "liberals" either. That's what they used to call themselves, but "liberal" has a noble history as a political term.
And you can't call them "progressives" because their ideas are passe'; the Soviet Union doesn't exist anymore (in which case they are actually "regressives").
Call them "socialists" (still too tame) or call them "Lefists," or call them "Reds" or call them "commies." Those terms are much more accurate.

Now Rush is being invited on these shows,...This is a standing invite, though. Rush does this every year (although he had to skip last year because of his hearing problems).
It's just coincidence that it happened to come around just after Daschle's silly, whiney tirade.
Rush does Russert, because he and Russert have an agreement; Russert will throw out any questions he wants, but he has to get out of Rush's way and let him answer. Rush will not do any other of these kinds of interviews. He won't go on these shows as a regular guest, etc.

Russert is doing this interview the same way he has done them in the past. If the Leftists want to "take him to the woodshed," then they already have, because nothing's changed.

Only three times in the last century has the party of a sitting President gained seats in Congress in the mid-term election of his first term.
That in itself made 2002 significant. But it was even MORE significant when you consider that the Dems constantly chant that Bush is "illegitimate." This was a repudiation of their claim.
My own personal belief, formed without any real evidence, just a gut feeling, is that 2000 was "close" because of massive vote-fraud, and that after the debacle in Florida many of the states overhauled their election systems. The Dems didn't have time to figure out how to defraud these new systems, and the REAL voting majority emerged.
Look at some of the other places where the races were close, like SD. There was PROVEN vote fraud there.

Rush's hometown is Cape Giradeau, Missouri. I believe his brother David still lives there.

So in that light, 2002 was not that "historic". It was in the sense that every midterm, the party in the White House will lose seats.

Actually Matthews and Rush seem to have a mutual respect for each other too. It was Matthews who told Rush he should call all the media that attended the Correspondents Dinner
together and demand an apology, from Clinton when he
insinuated that Rush was a racist.

IMHO Rush was much better on CNBC than he is on the radio. He seemed to be more at ease and not trying to keep his ratings up. He had some good comments about AlGore and Hillary. He is predicting the demos will run a sacrifical goat for the White House in 2004. Unless Iraq goes sour for Bush he will be almost impossible to beat.

I think every conservative and every Republican would love to see algore run again. This time, I believe the outcome would give PresBush a landslide victory. That's exactly why they will NOT run Al Gore again. It would crush the lie that W is "a selected President", and they would lose their "shrill" whistle threatening mantra.
