As a public service, please tell us how we are supposed to respond...are we in favor of blind loyalty to President Bush and the GOP (the party of smaller government), or do we favor expanding the size of the federal government with the creation of a new 170,000 person department with unprecedented powers of intrusion?
Just wondering.

Vote how you want for this one. Personally, I voted no.

I did too. There is, on this site, a "FreePC" answer to most of these polls.

A consolidation of current departments and agencies could be an excellent thing. Unfortunately, The Department of Homeland Defense is another additional cabinet level office, which adds to the problem.
I voted no.

Of course, the Democrats, Greens, Communists, and Libertarians will all vote "no". Perhaps, and I cannot speak to their motivations. But so will those of thus that want a smaller, less intrusive Federal Government, as described in the Constitution.

If I were able to, I'd vote no. For some unknown reason, when I go to the website, I don't have any yes or no dots on my computer to vote. :)
I don't get this bill. How is a new office, with up to 200,000 employees, supposed to make government smaller? How is a new office supposed to make Americans feel safer when this government won't enforce our borders?

Badly worded poll, our feckless leaders security or ours? The two are entirely unrelated.

DemonRAT Underground is yet to "dupe" this poll, so step to it. BTW: They're whining about how Bush is a dictator while praising their idol Comrade Clinton.
