Congratulations! As Winston Churchill said: "All babies look like me!" Aric looks very strong and bright eyed.

Ignore comments about the fat. My son, 10 lb. 4 oz,(also a homebirth) was 30 lbs by 4 months old. Today, he is 16 years old, 6'2", size 13 shoes and 140 lbs.

I'm sure your wife will appreciate your doing "guy things" with him...like potty training, shoe shopping, paying for his car insurance. (Man, it goes so fast!)

Home births are the best. My midwife made sure I had some good brown beer right afterwards...it helps with the breastfeeding! Enjoy!

Congratulations on your new son, Aric.........even though you insulted our son, Eric's name :o)
(I'm Swedish, and we spelled the same way as my grandfather spelled his name......not at all boring or ugly to me!).

Our Eric (also our 3rd) was 9 lb. 9 oz., 23" at birth, born natural delivery, but not at home. (Never did wear newborn clothes!)

He sure has grown up to be a patriot!

Have great fun with your wonderful family. Discipline, unconditional love, respect, lots of time to play, and lots of affection.......especially with DAD.

We have 3 sons - Jason-20, Michael-11 and ERIC - 16 - so - to me - ERIC is not an ugly name, by any stretch of the imagination!! - But I'm not going to argue with anyone about it - especially someone who just had a new baby--

By the way - as the mother of 3 sons - I can appreciate the fact that now - after having 2 daughters - you are now the father of a new son. I would LOVE to have a daughter - even at my age (in my 40's)!! :))

So very well done. A home delivery is the very best isn't it? I had one home and two birthing center deliveries (10 pounders each) after a couple of hospital deliveries which were less that wonderful. I just realized another advantage to home birth...you can get online and crow to the world!
