The United Muslim Women's Association of USA is having an Islamic Fashion Show for women on 28th Febuary, 2003 at 7:00 p.m in Michigan. A similar show was arranged the previous year and it was great. The tickets cost $30.00 which includes Dinner and a chance to win one of many door prizes. This is a nice opportunity for sisters to get out and have a night on the town. It will be a formal affair so dress up ladies!
If you are a store and want to set up a table we do have limited spaces available. Please let us know so we can reserve a table for you.
Venue:
Bint Jubail Center Located in Dearborn, Michigan.

Seriously, isn't all the veiling expressly done to not draw the masculine eye? Won't a beautiful silken thingamajiggy draw attention to wearer? This is against Islam, methinks. Yanqui devils!

Does anyone remember the old Wendy's commericials (I think it was Wendy's) from the 80's, satirizing the USSR - it was a fashion show where the models were hefty babushkas wearing shapeless grey smocks; each run on the catwalk was by the same hefty "model" in the same grey smock, only the babushka would be holding a different item; ie, holding a beach ball ("beachk vear!") or holding a flashlight ("eveningk vear!"), etc.

I always wondered how women ate while wearing a burqa. It then came to me they only have to thread straws through the mesh of the burqa becase as their husbands had already knocked out all their wife's teeth.
