Iraq Says to Hand in Weapons Declaration on Dec 7 22 minutes ago Add Top Stories - Reuters to My Yahoo!

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq will hand in a key declaration on its banned weapons programs on December 7 but it will not necessarily include an admission that the country has weapons of mass destruction, the chief Iraqi official liaising with U.N. arms experts said on Tuesday.

"We are going to deliver this declaration in the proper time on the seventh of this month and the people here, the UNMOVIC and IAEA, will take this declaration to New York and Vienna," Hussam Mohammed Amin, head of the Iraqi National Monitoring Directorate told reporters.

Asked if the declaration would include any new elements, he said: "Of course the declaration will have new elements but these new elements will not, shall we say, necessarily include a declaration of the presence of weapons of mass destruction.

"We are a country devoid of weapons of mass destruction. This fact is known to all countries including the United States of America and Britain and all those concerned."

U.S. President George Bush said Iraq must supply a "credible and complete" list of its nuclear, biological and chemical weapons by Sunday -- the December 8 deadline set by U.N. Security Council Resolution 1441 giving Baghdad one last chance to disarm or face war.

He is completely counting on charming the UN for additional time so that the US will be hamstrung into not attacking.

His problem here .. President Bush does NOT take orders from Anna Coffee

Not that DEBKA has any credibility to strain, but as an Israeli website they should at least realize that if Saddam had so much as two "nukes" he would have launched one at Tel Aviv by now.

A truer statement could not be made. These weapons are as good as gone. The man is a prophet.

inneresting choice of dates, Pearl Harbor anniversary...

The Japanese success at Pearl Harbor with trivial losses to themselves can be blamed on the inability of the U. S. political, diplomatic, and military establishments to recognize the capabilities of Japan and the weaknesses in U. S. defense planning as well as a long string of small coincidences and failures that would in any analysis appear to be extremely unlikely to occur in concert.

Replace "Japan" with Iraq or Al Qaeda.

Sodamn Insane is up to something.

I can just imaging Saddam doing something so stupid as to launch an attack that day.

"KYW just reported that we are expecting a huge document dump, probably in Arabic, that will take the UN weeks to go through--all in their attempt to buy time."

This is the same thing the Xlinton did in one of the major Congressional investigations. It is a successful stratgy for buying time. Saddam and Xlinton; so much alike.
The authorities will be impeded all the more because of all the subtle nuances in the Arabic language.

Hmmm... What if the document dump is submitted, and then a couple of days later (max) there is something like this:

"Well, we've gone over the documents, and it says so-and-so, blah blah blah..."

Y'know, we'll just "translate" the document in the context it is presented >wink<. Saddam will have coronary in an attempt to "explain" the meaning of the document.

Then again, it could all be moot if there is a new Pearl Harbor soon. In the dark parts of my heart, I feel this is what will happen...

He'd really be asking for trouble if he started taking hostages.

They're already in material breach. The only question now is whether Bush has the guts to tell the U.N. to stuff it and hit Iraq, or if he's going to let the terrorist-loving U.N. slow-roll us forever.

RE #11
I knew that sounded familiar as I was reading it. It is an Eminem song, can't remember the name, maybe "Kim". I only know that because on a road trip with a couple of friends we took turns controling the music, and they teamed up on me and we had to listed to all three of his CD's. I am scarred for life.

"or if he's going to let the terrorist-loving U.N. slow-roll us forever."

Be honest now - have you seen anything of a substantial nature to indicate otherwise?

I'm beginning to wonder if the UN inspection team is screwing around with their time until this happens. On Dec 7th they will declare they have no weapons of mass destruction and the UN team will head out to to the site they know has em.. find them.. and the US will pound them all straight to hell. I always find the releasing of documents on Dec 7th to be quite symbolic. If it was Monday or Tuesday I wouldn't say so but it's rare for major statements or things to happen on weekends unless there is a summit of some sort.
