If I recall correctly, Oliver Stone was a volunteer also.

I don't know about that specificly.
I do know that, for some who would not have enlisted otherwise, the draft made enlistment a preferable option. The rationale was in hope of obtaining a more desirable assignment rather than being stuck with something less desirable.

When a guarante of the security of our borders is realized, we can stop beating the drums. We don't have that. We don't have it because we finally decided to stop kissing everybody's butt around the world.

If Mr. Mustache Insane gets the bomb, we are screwed, Again! Israel would be toast, every arab babe on the planet would be wearin' hermetically sealed gowns by trojan, rape judgements might get out of hand, K-mart would be sellin' praying blankets by the thousands, hitlery would get mad and not run for president, Tony Blair would come out of the closet, and we'd all be shovelin' horse manure instead of pumpin' gas.

And this peacenik moron wants us to negotiate?

NAAAHHH........Let's Roll!

You don't think Iraq had anything to do with Al Queda do you? That would be silly.

See:

Ashton, et al. v. al Qaeda, et al.: Complaint (PDF) Lawsuit claiming a 9/11 link between Iraq and al Qaeda. Sept. 3, 2002

The file is in slow loading .pdf format, but it is an interesting read.

Hmmm...438 North Skinker, St. Louis, MO ... (This is the part of town where the red daiper babies try to sell flowers by harassing you and other motorists at streetcorners): A search on that address brought up this mention in the list of members of the "o17 group."

http://216.239.33.100/search?q=cache:k27QJKaP5PgC:www.rescomp.wustl.edu/~sforum/o17/members.htm+438+North+Skinker+&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

Ah, yes, the Infamous Pink Quakers:

American Friends Service Committee
Mira Tanna
(A St Louis phone #)
(An e-mail address which is on the Washington University 'edu' server)
http://www.afsc.org
438 N. Skinker Blvd.
St. Louis, MO 63130

There is yet another organization at that address, which is typical of far left groups/fronts:

St. Louis Economic Conversion Project
438 North Skinker Blvd.
St. Louis, MO 63130
(yahoo e-mail address)

And they are also on the list of the Lethbridge Activist Group, a motley collection of other professional activists and activist groups. I guess they figure they can make themselves look more numerous- and thus more intimidating, if they have many, many groups. Kind of like puffy-cat syndrome... a housecat may look big and mean when it is all puffed up but it is still a pussy :

LOL....I guess you're supposed to die at a die-in..?

Really. How anti-climactic.

We should see if we can get a trial lawyer to sue them for false advertising.

How about Larry Clayman?

As a Marine Corps veteran of the war in Viet Nam, I know firsthand that war is organized mass murder. Violence begets more violence. We need to solve international disputes peacefully and through negotiation.

Yeah. It's sure working like a charm in North Korea.

I suggest you send your fellow idiots over to Iraq and protest for peace there.

They did, the army of Penn.

When WWII was over, it was over. How many years later did we get involved in Korea - 10-15 years. How do you think it's related to WWII?

And there is, of course, the distinct possibility that FDR's "negotiations" with Stalin at Yalta are what led to the various battles of the "cold" war: Korea, Vietnam, Grenada.

According to many diplomatic theorists Stalin was able to secure far to many concessions from Roosevelt, despite the fact that the USSR was largely devastated by the War. By being overly generous, FDR allowed the USSR to expand Soviet/Communist dominance after the war in ways that the USSR would not have been able to do otherwise. This expansion, helped lead to the cold war and the need to contain further expansion (see, eg, the domino theory). The need to contain further expansion led to US involvement Korea, Vietnam, and Grenada.
