This may be the biggest scandal in politics. Worth investigating.

This is friggin unbelievable. Does Oregon have mandated performance audits? Perhaps, an initiative, if not?!!!

Man have you been doing you homework! Deception is the name of the game in the Oregon tax increase regime.

I'll go back to read it all, but kuddo's go to our brand new state legislator (Jacksonville), Dennis Richardson who got on this committee and found that PERS (Public employee retirement System)had been getting .5% more than they are even scheduled for...which is around 100 million extra.......but I understand it will take passing legislation just to stop the overflow! PERS uses up half of the city of Medford budget.....insanity!

I wonder if California really has a surplus and the Dems are just lying?

Then the liberals, socialists, commies, treehuggers, bums and transvestites will insist that Oregon's plan for 'free' socialized health care IS possible, using the surplus!
NOTE: don't bother asking them what happens when the surplus runs out; their eyes glaze over

The numbers may differ, but the SAME situation exists in your own state......All 50 states, every county, and most larger cities.......can you say you "been had"??

The feds ought to pass a law that states with surpluses should transfer them to states with deficits. Us Californians really could use the extra $11 bln right now and the nation as a whole would be stronger for it.
How about they do it for the children?

Last time I checked, Washington state had a $60 Billion surplus. Strange how the Governor says that services need to be cut to make ends meet, huh?

I guess the stock market devaluation had mor impact than I thought on the state's surplus - for FY 2002, Washington's surplus is 17.5 Billion.
