Schumer (D-NY) on C-SPAN2 NOW! (The Filibuster Against Estrada Has Begun)
CSPAN2 ^

Posted on 02/05/2003 2:16:31 PM PST by Recovering_Democrat

Charles Schumer is rambling idiocy now about how ideology MUST be used in determining judges. Schumer laughably calls himself a moderate.

Are we making the Dem's actually speak and filibuster? Let it go on for weeks, months, years, but don't give in. Make the 'Rats explain why they are filibustering this nominee when the country is on the brink of war. Make the 'Rats explain why the Senate can not take up the issue of war with Iraq while they are filibustering.

Really. If the moronic Dems think they can get traction by FILIBUSTERING A HISPANIC nominee during wartime, go for it. We'll gladly accept a 66-34 Senate in 2004, too.

These people are so desparate. I pity um...poor chuckie, upstaged by a genuinely bad person, the, oh gag me, junior senator, and now having to smear a good, good man because the democrats have such a fear of what the future Supreme Ct may look like, they cannot control their own penchant to ruin good lives. Let um try. They just don't know how badly they are going to be exposed with this cruel effort.

Schumer says: "The disabled community was up in arms about......" some judge.

What the heck is a disabled community?

More demo jargon for minority pockets.

Jeez....Sen. Schemer...us Irish don't want no Hispanics on the Court. How 'bout looking out for us spuds.

I agree. We're not lucky enough to get this comical silliness for weeks or months.

The Dems will drop this like a hot potato after a day or two, when they realize the whole country is laughing at them.

The only question is - Will the GOP perform their typical embarrassing fold before then? (they'd better not)

It's tiresome the way they use the words "moderate" and "mainstream" in every situation, as if they had any idea of what those actually mean in America!

It sure is. Reminds of of their ridiculous phrases and words meant to distort the truth...ie, when klinton was the leader of our nation (some leader, impeached, porned, lost law license for five yrs, quid pro quos, etc, etc,), they tried to use the phrase "er, does character really matter?" OH GAG ME! These dunderheads even had tommy brokaw and chrissy matthews and petey jennings posing the question to our nation ' DOES CHARACTER REALLY MATTER "!

How embarrassing and sickening is that?

Then they tried to nail President Bush by saying he lacked 'gravitas' (OH LOL!) On the same day.....major network jerks were spouting the line-probably a line that came directly from carville...lol....they were all saying President Bush lacked 'gravitas'!!! Toooooooooooo funny! It went on for a week or more....and then our President thru simply being himself, shot that dumb word down so rapidly you will NEVER EVER hear it even squeak out of their dirty mouths.

And lately, tommy daschle has been trying his widdle black heart out to get the newest phrase going that President Bush has a, (oh....please, be still my heart! LOL) ' credibility gap '. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Oh please, will it NEVER end??? LOL. These guys are so lost....and in the meantime, the really great grassroots democrats are waking up in droves. This is only going to get better as these sickly klitonian, corrupted, outspoken, snide, democratic politicians continue to expose their yellow, dead underbellys.

It doesn't matter. Schumer is history. We will destroy him in the Hispanic community. He has made a huge mistake. Perhaps he forgot that the entire Hispanic Democrat leadership in NYC endorsed Pataki.

Thank you for all those who have offered their local help in the effort to eviscerate Schumck Schumer among Latinos in NY. Any other help would be appreciated. (please reply via private mail, thanks)

I got out of NY nearly 7 years ago and it would take an act of God to ever get me to live there again.

I know how you feel. I once felt the same way. We were looking to get out of NYC years ago but it was an act of God that kept us here. Here, more than ever, people need God, so we stayed to work in a church here. That is the only reason we are here and will remain here until and if God ever releases us. It saddens me to see such hatred towards the people of NY here on FR, because this place is a place that needs prayer before God Almighty condemns. Last I heard, that was not our place. (I'm not saying you are doing that, but others in these NY threads surely do.)

I guess I should stop before I find myself preaching. I hate the politics of this place, but their politics also reveal a great need for spiritual renewal. The liberal lie in this place is powerful but not more powerful than the love combined with the standards of God. okay, okay....I'm stopping! I just couldn't resist!

That would be great! Even better if it were 67-33 to make the GOP bullit proof on all 2/3 type votes.

and we might need a few more as insurance policy against the flippy/flakey four! (and I think you know to whom I refer)

Ann's Quote.

BEGALA: The reason I'm trying to tease this out is because Mr. Estrada (ph) would very much like to be on one of the most important courts in the land, but he doesn't want us to know his views on important issues. And is he an Ann Coulter conservative or a Paul Begala liberal?

COULTER: Yes, I get the point you're getting at. We're going to do a little left wing guilt by association.

BEGALA: No. I am curious about his views, Ann.

COULTER: Miguel Estrada is a friend of mine. But just to calm you, Geraldo Rivera is a friend of mine, too.

BEGALA: I understand that. That doesn't calm me, by the way. But does he share your views? Has he ever expressed a view to you about Roe v. Wade, (UNINTELLIGIBLE)?

You're an accomplished attorney yourself. He's an accomplished attorney. You must talk attorney stuff, right?

COULTER: I send a lot of people my columns before they go out. They argue with me. They tell me jokes. They send stuff back. They correct errors. I have a lot of friends and they help me in a lot of different...

BEGALA: So you're not going to tell me about any of his views?

COULTER: What do you want me to say?

BEGALA: Are you embarrassed by his views?

COULTER: The second he gets in there, he'll overrule everything you love, Paul Begala.

I don't see Rudy on the national ticket. His popularity aside, his semi-liberal social positions wouldn't fly well with the right. I see him taking on Chuckie in '04 (with Bush leading the way in a landslide), which clears the path for Pataki to slay the Hildebeast in '06, which would be the end of his 3rd term in Albany. I could be wrong.

ORRIN HATCH KICKING ASS!

Schumer apparently uses some "professor Bender" as a critic of Estrada. PROFESSOR BENDER's claim to fame is as a FOLK HERO FOR CHILD PORNO AFFICIANADOS! Hatch goes through the history of Bender's work on behalf of those convicted and in defense of Child Porn.

As I said, Schumer is finished. He has made a fatal error opposing Estrada in such a nasty, personal way. And now Orrin Hatch has revealed that Bender, Schumer's chief source for criticism of Miguel Estrada, is nothing but an advocate for legalizing child pornography. This is a bombshell. I can't wait until Schumer takes the floor again.

Works for me! Some of Rudy's politics aside, he is untouchable these days and will help the ticket, not hurt it.

I think there has to be some behind the scenes reasons the GOP is deep in the heart of liberal territory in NYC. The things I think are Rudy or Gen Powell joining the ticket (both NYers) - I don't think Cheney stays on the ticket and indeed, nobody seems to know where he is now!

I see the NY angle playing big in the convention. Pataki taking a shot at Schumer along Dubya/Rudy coattails is the best opportunity to win all around.

Hillary is Senator for life, sorry to report. Pataki knows this and Schumer is far more vulnerable. This allows a Lt Gov 2 years to build a record and run for Gov as a Republican incumbent.
