Add actor Danny Glover to the growing list of celebrity George W. Bush bashers.
The 'Lethal Weapon' star was in Brazil recently where he called George W. 'a racist' and blasted many of the Presidents policies.
'Yes he's racist,' Glover said in response to a question from a reporter from the Brazilian Magazine Isto E, according to our sources translation.
'We all knew that but the world is only finding it out now. As Texas Governor, Bush led a penitentiary system that executed more people than all of the US states toghter. And most of the people who died from the death penalty were Afro-Americans or Hispanics.'
Glover continued: 'Bush promoted a conservative program, designed to eliminate everything Americans have accomplished so far in matters of race and equality.'

If people really want to organize a boycott for the movies, organize a smart boycott. People are not going to totally stop seeing movies that they want to see. So tell people to boycott the movie just for the first week or two of its release. This is when the biggest percentage of the box office movie goes to the studios. After that, the local theater gets a much larger percentage. Not only does this keep the money from going back to Hollywood but it helps local theaters that often have to charge outrageous prices for food to stay in business. Bad for Hollywood. Good for local theaters. Let's people see the movies they want to see but they just have to wait a bit. That sounds like it would be a lot more successful than a total boycott to me.

I never could understand how glover and Mel Gibson could be friends.
To: CWOJackson
Hopefully, shared political views are not the basis for a friendship. Theirs or anyone elses.

Maybe a boycott is in order. Too late. I'm already boycotting MCI. There are plenty of other reasons not to use their service apart from the Glover issue-deceptive and fraudulent marketing practices never win friends for a company.

Don't feel bad about your boycott, I have been doing it for years and feel like i haven't missed a darn thing. I can't remember the first ADULT movie I have seen, and my poor child if and when he goes to the movies he goes with a friend because I refuse to step into a theater much less pay $10.00 of my hard earned money to buy these limousine liberals another mercedes. I say boycott them all and we need to get serious about this. it will have an impact if we all stick together.
I will be calling MCI next.

Thanks for the recommendation.
I am pretty well disgusted with the big 3. I will see how this company's rates compare. But, I would definitely consider it worthwhile to pay a couple cents more per minute for service from a company that is ethical and honest. That is really the only way we can force companies to change- is to speak with our wallets.
Now if the Baby Bell would just quit passing on every conceivable fee and tax to us, that'd really be great!

Well, we seem to be SAVING money. We were on MCI and, as I'm sure many are aware, their billing tends to be less than forthright.
Anyway, we signed up with Sienna as our long distance carrier, and the bills dropped immensely. Plus, there's the knowledge that what I do pay for long distance doesn't go into porn tv or Ted Kennedy's coffers.
Which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, y'know?
