There are few so-called artists that I began boycotting years ago, e.g., Madonna because she encourages girls to be skeezers.

I would not walk across the streeet to see these lowlifes. I always thought Pierce Brosnan was really hot, now I can't stand to look at him. If they are going to run down my country, I can not have any admiration for them at all.

I tend to agree with you, as well. I'm finding that a lot of the artists whose music I enjoy (mostly alternative country/folk) fall into the "enemy camp" so to speak. I will continue to listen to them and purchase new releases if I feel so inclined.

What I won't do is seek out any products from artists I haven't heard before who are "celiberals." For example, I was once curious to hear what Steve Earle was all about...this was before John Walker Blues. I still have never heard his music, and now I don't plan to ever buy anything from him.

I'm afraid she is way out there. It disappointed me too -- a few months ago I saw her in a play with Al Pacino, and she was quite a fine actress on stage. Shortly after that I learned about her politics, and I lost all respect for her. I was sitting about 10 feet away from her while she performed The Dance of The Seven Veils, and I do have to admit she was VERY convincing. But if she's that whacko politically, she's no better than Asner or Sarandon or any of those other sanctimonious leftist pukes. She's just a sexy version of Barbra Streisand, but just as much of an America-hating loser.

It's a real shame that Steve Earle has turned out to be so anti-American. I really like his musical style and he has some great songs (aside from that Johnny Walker song). My favorite Steve Earle song is Copperhead Road. But no, I won't be buying any more of his CD's - darn it!

This is a tough area. With some people, it is easy to pass on their performances -- Sarandon, Striesand (waste of great pipes, though), etc. Even Tyne Daly can be skipped, although I used to like "Judging Amy."

But what am I to do with Elija Wood and Ian McKellan? I liked LOTR and, being a Tolkein fan (who is spinning in his grave to see the politics of the individuals portraying his characters), think the movies have thus far held true to the vision of JRR.

At this rate, conservatives won't be able to watch anything but Terminator movies and listen to country music. I don't have an answer but I think I have a heck of a problem statement.

Yes, but we need that to happen NOW! I am sure there is a better actor for Frodo out there an Elija Wood, but HE is acting the part. So, do I boycott LOTR movies because the major character's actor is a flaming idiot? Do I give the brainless left power over me by choosing my viewing, indirectly?

Well, in the meantime, I can excorciate the ones I truly don't like and hope that kids like EJ get the message. Or we can send Arnold to have a talk with the little anti-american punk.

Actually, I agree with QA. We don't rush out to see the movies featuring the hollywierd anymore. Given the choice we'll rent a movie that's a year old we haven't seen.

We actually have found many benefits. We avoid the long lines, unruly audiences and sometimes higher prices.

We also have the benefit of knowing whether a movie is worth the price of the tickets, avoiding a lot of disappointment.

It's satisfying to watch supposed box office stars bomb for a month - even if the movie may end up profitable over the long run. I also think it prevents ridiculous salary demands, inflated egos, and tougher financing if it takes a year or more for a movie to become profitable.

It is so rotteningly amusing to me to hear and see all of these hyper-elitist liberals, who are grosslsy over-paid, overly indulged, extremely way out there in never never land, script readers and screen play memorizers telling my President, he doesn't have a clue.

Like, where were they when the great Liberal Icon, the Impeached One who kept losing his cigars in some, well, you know what I mean, tossed down bombs like his cigar wrappers and his zipper whenever he got the urge?

Very good ideas.

I'd add to that two others:

1. If you must boycott, only boycott certain people. Create a noticeable difference in the success of one person over another. The bottom line will eventually force a hard look at why it's happening. A mass boycott creates no contrast, and in doing so, can hurt it's own message. Not to mention those in the industry who actually agree with it. Just as with other forms of conflict, it's better to avoid collateral damage.

2. If you disagree with these people, and have the skills, go into the business. Stop whining, and take the damn beach. That's what the left did to our educational institutions, and we've been worse off for it ever since.
