Iraq-AlQaeda links are there: KTOK AM show discussion
KTOK-AM, Oklahoma City talk radio ^ | March 5, 2003 | MizSterious

Posted on 03/06/2003 6:12:56 AM PST by MizSterious

Yesterday Oklahomans were treated to a remarkable interview on Oklahoma City talk radio station KTOK. I missed it (having chosen the "joy" of the doctor's office instead), but a good friend listened and took notes--and phoned me with the details.

The interview was conducted by assistant news director John Christian, who asked questions of Oklahoma City attorney Mike Johnston. Many of you might be familiar with that name: Mike Johnston has been handling a lawsuit for a number of OKC bombing victims and/or their survivors--I think around 23 or so. He's maintained for years, as has a past member of Free Republic, that there is a strong, tangible link between Hussein and bin Laden.

On this show, he again asserted that he has the evidence to prove his claims. Moreover, he will be presenting this evidence in court. It will prove, he insists, that Khalid Mohammed worked for Iraq to achieve not only the 9/11 attacks, but also the OKC federal building bombing and the first bombing of the WTC in 1993. Iraq sponsored all of these attacks, according to Johnston. He said the evidence he's presenting will show that Khalid Mohammed worked for Iraq for years, even before he worked for AlQaeda.

He further stated that on Monday, March 3, 2003, he filed a motion for summary judgement with Iraq, to move forward the lawsuit he filed in 2001 on behalf of the OKC bombing victims and survivors.

Note that date: 2001. Mike Johnston knew, or at least suspected, that long ago that Saddam Hussein's fingerprints were on terrorist attacks on our soil. If true, President Bush should not hesitate to move in on Iraq: this will truly be a just war, although in truth, it's justice delayed--by about 10 years.

I apologize for not having an actual transcript of this interview. KTOK doesn't have transcripts on their website, but they did carry this small article about the interview:

Terrorist Arrest With Oklahoma Ties?

On Monday, just the day after suspected terrorist Khalid Shaikh Mohammed was arrested, Oklahoma City attorney Mike Johnston was in Washington filing a motion for summary judgement in his lawsuit against Iraq. The lawsuit claims Iraq trained, financed and plotted for the Oklahoma City bombing. Johnston says while the timing is nothing more than happenstance, it is interesting because he alleges Mohammed had ties to a group which allegedly met in the Phillipines to plan the bombing of the Murrah Building. Johnston says he has evidence showing Mohammed and his nephew Ramzi Yousef got funding from Iraq, and were a part of a "Jihad" encouraged by Saddam Hussein after the Gulf War. -jc

Immediately after the bombing of the Murrah Building, an APB was put out--and recorded by local news agencies, then played on live television--telling police to look for three men fleeing in a brown truck. The men were said to be olive-skinned, possibly Arabic. Later, ties were made to a man formerly in the Iraqi Republican Guard--and here it grows murky as lawsuits and back-room manuevering obscured the relevance of this part of the story. The lawsuits (against the reporter who exposed the Iraqi) were actually dismissed, so perhaps there was more to this than most people think.

STATE OF OKLAHOMA
COUNTY OF OKLAHOMA

AFFIDAVTIT

I, HENRY C. GIBBONS, being duly sworn, do hereby state that I am an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, having been so employed for 26 years and as such am vested with the authority to investigate violations of federal laws, including Title 18, United States Code.

Further, the Affiant states as follows:

1. The following information has been received by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on April 19-20, 1995.

2. On April 15, 1995, a powerful explosive device detonated in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at approximately 9:00 a.m.

3. On April 19, 1995, a Special Agent of the FBI received information that a witness near the scene of the explosion saw to individuals running from the area of the Federal Building toward a brown Chevrolet truck prior to the explosion. The individuals were described as males, of possible Middle Eastern descent, approximately 6 feet tall, with athletic builds . One of the persons was further described as approximately 25-28 years old, having dark hair and a beard. The. second person was described as approximately 35-38 years old, with dark hair and a dark beard with gray in it. The second person was further described as wearing jogging pants, a black shirt and a black jogging jacket. A third person, not further identified, was believed to be in the brown Chevrolet truck.

4. At approximately 10:00 a.m. on April 19, l995, an American Airlines flight left Oklahoma City en route to Chicago, Illinois. Aboard that flight was Abraham Abdallah Ahmed. Ahmed was scheduled to fly from Chicago to Rome, Italy and finally to Jordan.

5. American Airlines personnel-in Oklahoma City observed Ahmed prior to the flight and thought he was "acting nervous." They called the American Airlines national security office in Dallas, Texas, who in turned notified the Chicago office of the FBI.

6. Ahmed was interviewed by FBI Agent Chuck Miller upon his arrival in Chicago at about 12:30 p.m. Ahmed stated that he was travelling to Jordan to discuss his father's planned marriage. He also advised that he was born in Jordan but, was a naturalized United States citizen. He also said he was not scheduled to return to the United States until July 1995. Ahmed was observed to be approximately 5' 8" tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, and wearing a moustache. His date of birth is July is, 1963.

7. The luggage of Ahmed continued on the connecting flight from Chicago to Home, Italy, while Ahmed remained in Chicago. The luggage was searched in Rome by Italian officials who discovered, inter alia: (a) multiple car radios (b) a substantial quantity of shielded and unshielded wire; (c) a small tool kit and other tools, consistent with use for both explosive devices and normal electronic repair or installation; (d) blue jogging pants and a blue jogging jacket with a floral pattern around the neck; (e) black sweatpants; (f) video cassette recorder; and (g) solder.

8. At the conclusion of the interview, Ahmed secured passage on a flight to London, England.

9. On April 20, 1995, British authorities informed the FBI Command Center in Washington, D.C., that they detained Ahmed in London and have determined that he is ineligible far entry into or transit through England and will be returned to the United States. Ahmed is expected to arrive at Washington-Dulles international Airport at 7:25 p.m. on April 20, 1995.

10. Based on the proximity in time of Ahmed's flight from Oklahoma City following the explosion to a destination outside the country, and his possession of multiple car radios, the wire, tool kit and tools, a blue jogging suit and black sweatpants, the testimony of Ahmed is required before a Federal Grand Jury investigating the April 19, 1995 explosion in Oklahoma City.

11. Ahmed's demonstrated intent to leave the country indicates that his testimony cannot be secured through the issuance of a subpoena.

Further your affiant sayeth not.

I think Freepers are among the few who understand the damage the Clintons have done to this country. Posting some of these is a lot like preaching to the choir, but I think these articles should be posted anyway. Perhaps one day these vile people can be brought to justice--perhaps standing trial along with war criminals from the Middle East. (Well, I can dream, can't I?)

Camera saw figure in bomb truck , Oklahoma City video is unclear, but it may show John Doe No. 2

Camera saw figure in bomb truck

Oklahoma City video is unclear, but it may show John Doe No. 2.

The Associated Press

OKLAHOMA CITY - Videotape from a surveillance camera captured a glimpse of a shadowy figure in the passenger seat of a bomb-laden Ryder truck minutes before it blew apart the federal building, a federal law enforcement source says.

The footage is not clear enough to identify anyone, but it adds to the body of evidence that a third figure - perhaps the long-sought John Doe No. 2 - took part in the attack with two other persons, the source said.

``There's a shape in there, but they can't see a face,'' the source said of footage, which was taken by a camera on a nearby apartment building. The camera picked up the shadowy passenger about three minutes before the bomb went off April 19 at the Murrah Federal Building.

The government says Timothy McVeigh drove to Oklahoma City in the truck, parked it in front of the federal building and made his getaway in a yellow Mercury Marquis. But prosecutors have given no indication that Terry Nichols, also charged in the case, was in Oklahoma City the day of the bombing.

Although a federal grand jury indicted only McVeigh and Nichols on murder and conspiracy charges, agents scoured the country for a third conspirator, known only as John Doe No. 2, who was portrayed in sketches distributed shortly after the blast.

Authorities later said that an innocent Army private resembled the sketches. But the drawings were never withdrawn. Moreover, the indictment accuses McVeigh and Nichols of acting with ``others unknown,'' and agents were still hunting for other conspirators.

A call Friday to Assistant U.S. Attorney Steve Mullins, a spokesman for the prosecution team, was not returned immediately.

Prosecutors repeatedly refused to discuss surveillance tape or other evidence in the case.

McVeigh's lawyer, Stephen Jones, said he had not seen the tape and could not comment.

A senior federal official in Washington said recently that agents currently searching did not expect to turn up another key player in the plot.

The law enforcement source, however, said many investigators remained convinced that John Doe No. 2 was still at large.

McVeigh and Nichols go on trial May 17.

Readers want bombing probe reopened

What about the latest bombshell from Davis that one of the affidavit authors recognized terrorist suspect Khalid Shaikh Mohammed as someone who was in Oklahoma City before it was bombed? Mohammed is among the 22 fugitives on the FBI's Most Wanted List President Bush announced Oct. 10.

"Sure, if she has any information on the current (World Trade Center) investigation, we would want that," Oklahoma FBI Agent Gary Johnson said Thursday. We shall see.

OKC’s Mideast Connection
September 14, 1998

The eyewitness testimony used for Agent Gibbons’ affidavit, together with testimony on April 19th from other eyewitnesses, provided the basis for the FBI’s All Points Bulletin which was picked up and played by local radio and television stations. That APB stated:

Be on the lookout for a late model, almost new, Chevrolet, full-size pickup. It will be brown in color with tinted windows, smoke-colored bug deflector on the front of pickup … middle eastern male, 25 to 28 years of age, six feet tall, athletic build, dark hair and a beard.... driver of the vehicle was not identified. Subjects were last seen heading north on Walker at a high rate of speed.... Authorization FBI.

A follow-up APB printout that this writer obtained from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol was issued at 2:28 p.m. on April 19th. It stated:

Attempt to locate possible suspects and vehicle involved in bombing Oklahoma City 04/19/95 0900 hrs.... Use extreme caution … Stop and check all vehicles matching the following description: Blue small to medium size GM product possible Chevrolet Cavalier or Blazer. Vehicle may be a rental car from National Car Rental Systems DFW [Dallas-Fort Worth] Texas. Possible tag of PTF54F Texas. Suspect information: Occupied by Middle Eastern male subject or subjects....

Interview with Mylorie

What's going on in Washington right now in the debate over terrorism and the possible Iraq connection?

The Pentagon believes Iraq is behind the terrorism that began on September 11 and wants to include Iraq as a central target in our war on terrorism.

The State Department says that there's no evidence, or insufficient evidence, that Iraq is involved; [that] Osama bin Laden and Afghanistan should be the sole object of our war, because we have to build an international coalition for support for the American war effort in Afghanistan, and if we add another target, i.e. Iraq, to our war, that will break up the coalition that exists in support of the war in Afghanistan. The CIA maintains that the evidence points to bin Laden and there is little evidence pointing to Iraq, and it's not interested in pursuing the evidence pointing to Iraq.

Who are the members of the teams that are fighting each other here?

This is a very bitter and nasty fight. ... One of the things that is going on is that people who accommodated Bill Clinton's desire not to hear of Iraqi involvement in any of the preceding terrorism are continuing on that line, probably with an eye to their past positions they held and maybe probably their careers; they feel their careers may be endangered.

McVeigh's Ghost - Top Pentagon Officials Say Iraq Involved in OKC Bombing

US News & World Report | October 23, 2001 | Paul Bedard

Some dismiss it as being akin to Elvis sightings, but a few top Defense officials think Oklahoma City bomber Tim McVeigh was an Iraqi agent. The theory stems from a never-before-reported allegation that McVeigh had allegedly collected Iraqi telephone numbers. Why haven't we heard this before about the case of the executed McVeigh? Conspiracy theorists in the Pentagon think it's part of a coverup.

"A classified report prepared by two independent Pentagon experts has concluded that the destruction of the federal building in Oklahoma City last April was caused by five separate bombs. The two experts reached the same conclusion for the same technical reasons.

Sources close to the Pentagon study say Timothy McVeigh did play a role in the bombing but peripherally, as a "useful idiot." The multiple bombings have a Middle Eastern "signature," pointing to either Iraqi or Syrian involvement."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The quote is from an article in the 3-20-1996 Strategic Investment Newsletter. At the time, William Colby, former CIA Director, was an editor for the publication. I believe his status as editor contributes to the credibility of the article.

Just pinging for general interest...

My amateur, personal "conspiracy theory" is that McVey may have been a dupe manipulated
via Nichols...who took a number of trips to The Phillipines...without his Phillipina
wife, if reports are true.

A link to Osama and Co. via the Abu Sayyeff in The Phillipines doesn't seem
too far a stretch.

And even McVey's attorney (Stephen Jones) and the Federal Judge Maitsch (sp?)
have neve abandoned their belief that McVey was part of a larger conspiracy.

Even with all this speculation...I'll never forget hearing the first radio
reports of the OKC Bombing on KTOK, minutes after the blast.
When the reporterette on the scene said that a civilian rescuer didn't want to talk
about what he'd seen after running into the wreckage...I knew it was very, very bad...

FBI Agent Coleen Rowley letter to FBI Director Mueller

The bottom line is this: We should be deluding neither ourselves nor the American people that there is any way the FBI, despite the various improvements you are implementing, will be able to stem the flood of terrorism that will likely head our way in the wake of an attack on Iraq. What troubles me most is that I have no assurance that you have made that clear to the president.

Excerpt from letter

Minneapolis, MN 55401

February 26, 2003

FBI Director Robert Mueller
FBI Headquarters
Washington D.C.

Dear Director Mueller:

In June, 2002, on the eve of my testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, you told me that you appreciate constructive criticism and that FBI agents should feel free to voice serious concerns they may have about senior-level FBI actions. Since then I have availed myself twice of your stated openness.

2) What is the FBI's evidence with respect to a connection between al-Qaeda and Iraq? Polls show that Americans are completely confused about who was responsible for the suicidal attacks on 9-11 with many blaming Iraq. And it is clear that this impression has been fostered by many in the Administration. As far as the FBI is concerned, is the evidence of such a link "bulletproof," as Defense Secretary Rumsfeld claims, or "scant," as General Brent Scowcroft, Chairman of the President's Intelligence Advisory Board has said? The answer to this is of key importance in determining whether war against Iraq makes any sense from the FBI's internal security point of view. If the FBI does have independent data verifying such a connection, it would seem such information should be shared, at least internally within the FBI.
