The national USO wants you to send your $25 check to Washington to buy a "care package" for a service member overseas. But Ginny Compton of the USO at Lambert Field thinks you might also want to invest money right here at home.

Anheuser-Busch kicked in $25,000 on Friday, officially the last day of the fund drive. That lifted the total over $100,000.

Don't ya just hate big business? All they care about is money... <\sarcasm>

Everyone here should sign up to sponsor a soldier at Operation Military Pride They will send you a soldiers address and a brief list of what they need and you can put together a care package and send it directly to them. You can do your part to fight the war by boosting moral & making a soldiers daily life more bearable. Please pass the word & spread the link.

Ingrate. Yours is the attitude of a liberal. "Hey big, evil business, give me more! Your gift, which you didn't have to give, is not enough." Puke.

AB is involved in the community and does a lot. Your smartass attitude shows your lack of knowledge about their participation.

How much are you giving?

Actually, I choose not to drink, other than maybe a glass of wine once a month with a good meal. More importantly, I don't criticize somebody for contributing to a worthy cause because I've decided it isn't enough. You may not realize it, but you are engaged in class warfare. Slamming AB for doing something that a bunch of other companies aren't was stupid, misguided and nonsensical on your part. I just pointed it out, that's all. Your response? Imply that I'm drunk. More stupid logic. Sure you're not a leftist? Yoo reason and responde to criticism like one.

"Anheuser-Busch kicked in $25,000"

So, how much did Ben & Jerry kick in? Just guessing, but I think that A.B. donation was probably from a distributor level rather than corporate HQ.

My smartass'd attitude shows that I grow tired of filth-riched company's trying to win the public by their token gifts. If you had AB"s wealth, would you not contribute a little more than what they did?

I think you're missing the point of a gift. The way you're taking it to them, they would have been better off if they'd looked the other way and offered nothing. (Do you work for the company? How do you know how much money they have to spend on things like this?)
