The French are bastards. Maybe we need to defeat them and take them hostage.

It's hard to imagine a scenario where that would occur. What makes you think we will be at war with France?

I can foresee a lot of friction, and diplomatic battles, but an actual shooting war? I'd dismiss the idea outright except for the fact that I never saw I'd see France get to this point. Something is up. Whether it ends with conquest in Iraq, I don't know yet.

In order to really make the French suffer, the State Department should label the French government a 'State Sponsor of Terrorism', pull our embassy and all others out of France, kick their diplomats out, and then freeze all of their assets inside the US.

Not really news.

The signs of French diplomatic tutelage have been apparent in Ankara for weeks now.

History is sometimes called ‘The Grand Game’. The French excel in the play. They also knew when they supported American Independence that this day would come. Check frog. Possibly check-mate.

France is certainly making a quick transition from The Axis of Weasels to the Axis of Evil. FTF!

"Chiraq is trying VERY, VERY hard to prevent us from finding something in Iraq. I wonder whatever it could be?"

I was thinking about that just now, and many have posted that they thought it was nukes, or other proscribed weapons. How about this other possibility:

Since we've essentially proven that Iraq had something to do with 9/11 by helping OBL, and now we're seeing that Chiraq is doing all he can to help Saddam, maybe the bottom line is that Chiraq was the one who gave the orders for or provided major assistance for 9/11 - along with Germany. After all, Atta and Co were in Hamburg for a long time.

Chiraq, in his arogance and lust for power - especially his desire to take the US down a notch or two - provides ample motive for him to be behind 9/11. The proximity of the Hamburg location plus the meetings between Atta and the Iraqis could very well have been expedited by the French as well.

That's a start. I think we need to squeeze their oil supply after the war, do our best to prevent aerospace and auto sales, bring down the EU, Nato and the UN, and release all the info we have about Chirac's corruption and his collaboration with Saddam. The post-Iraq security and trade world will exclude France.

That's what I hope, anyway.

They also knew when they supported American Independence that this day would come.

They knew no such thing. In 1781, North America was a tiny sideshow in the Franco-British rivalry, and if they thought of America's future at all, it never occurred to them then or at anytime since that the US would be kicking their ass back in Europe. It never occurred to us, either, until the French decided to become an enemy this past year.

This is the overt act of an enemy opposing us in battle.

Add that France has been supplying not only spare parts, but Mirage planes to Iraq up to just last month. Add that Iraq has been procuring American uniforms to use in their war, and that there's some reason to believe that those uniforms came from Nato supplies in Germany. Add the German supplies of materials and resources for wmd production to Iraq - some of it, like the gas centrifuge documents and a whole working centrifuge plus instruction on building it, is very recent. It certainly seems that these nations are enemies of the US.

How tragic, then, that Bush pulls out a knife and sticks it squarely in the back of Israel with his inane blathering about a "roadmap to peace", presumably to appease the French, the Germans, the Saudis and anyone else who might have a Nazi pedigree. "Please stop obstructing us, and I'll give you the Jews". Anyone wonder why "coalition partners" are so few and far between?

Regarding your theory: I think it is possible, although a betrayal of such magnitude would be grounds for war and I hope it isn't true.

Something is driving this, and a desire for EU dominance just doesn't ring true. Neither do oil contracts, trading partnerships, or French's desire for greatness.

A nuke is a possibility, although the French government could blame it on a rogue scientist or corporation.

I am getting the heeby-jeebies thinking about this.

I disagree. The French knew exactly what they did. Now they must reap the harvest.

Lord, God,

We have sufficient enemies. Please protect us from our friends!

Lord, this leader has been duplicitous enough. He has been destructive enough to good and righteousness as well as to the better interests of the USA.

Father, Lord, PLEASE,

1) give him a dramatic conversion and 180 degree turn around a la the Apostle Paul with wholescale repentance, confession and overtly turning from his prior stances

or

2) Take him totally out of public life in an emphatic and unchangeable way.

or

3) Take him swiftly and dramatically to the eternal abode he has clearly chosen for himself

or

4) something of your creative engineering that would even more emphatically and dramatically and for good take him out of the way and out of public life.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Enough is enough, Lord.
