From the Boston Globe: Mainstream Muslim clerics in the Middle East who had denounced Osama bin Laden are now urging followers to rise up against the United States if it attacks Iraq, in a sign that some Islamic moderates are finding common cause with extremists.

Until this kind of stuff is widely denounced by ‘mainstream Muslim clerics’ here in this country, it will be extremely difficult for you the promote Islam as a ‘religion of peace.’ Everything you do will be regarded with suspicion and rightly so. I try to keep an open mind but when so many people of you faith call for my death simply because I am an American and no one of your faith soundly condemns such statements, particularly in this country, I find it very difficult to be tolerant.

If these people define "pro-Islam," then it's obvious that "pro-Islam" is anti-American. I'm willing to welcome anyone who supports our country and the principles that made it great. These people clearly fall short of that standard. May they all be dipped in pig fat and sent back to the sand dunes.
