I just saw the tape of the captured GI´s. I feel for them. I pray for them. As a German reservist, I consider all servicemen of all NATO-members as my comrades, regardless of the position of my government in this war. I´m mad as hell when I see these pictures from the US soldiers, I don´t want to see them manipulated by the Iraqi propaganda. The first war I´ve seen was Gulf War I, and I was 9 years old. I still remember that I cried when I heard that captured pilots of shot-down-planes were pulled through the streets of Baghdad with bags on their heads, people spat on them. I was angry and feared for their lives. Still, I think of such acts as one of the most cruel and ashaming acts a hostile nation can do. Today, I remembered that I have a US flag, which is now on my appartements wall, with a small black stripe for those who gave the most they could give for freedom, peace and the security of the western world - their lives. May God bless all coalition forces, and may God protect the entire civilized world!
