The EU is now against all who support the US. You'll see how the EU will make it difficult for the prospective countries to join, if they expressed support for this war.

As "I" said a while back, "You're either for us or against us".

New Europe is for us, Britain and Australia are for us, Spain and Italy and the non-Weasels of Old Europe are for us, Japan and South Korea are for us, the more progressive and richest Arab oil countries are for us. These all happen to be the strongest and most dynamic populations and economies in the world in coming decades. They are the future. Together, they are the elements of global economic and technological dominance and, therefore, military dominance.

Turkey is against us, Weasel Europe is against us, Russia and China are against us, Canada (sadly) and Mexico are against us, the really awful Arab countries are against us. These are the decaying countries (except China), those who will not reform their economies and/or political systems, the countries who cannot easily adapt to change, the countries who (except for China) are suffering sever population decline. These countries are, generally, the past. You can add to their numbers such lovely spots as North Korea, Sudan, the hellholes of Africa and much of Central/South America.

The rest of the world is pretty much on the sidelines so they can go off and whine at each other at the Non-Aligned Nations conferences or start some puny war to keep themselves entertained.

I really do grow weary of explaining these elementary facts. Your remarks are so, well, twentieth-century. It's a new century and it will be an American century. And Iraq is only the first stop in the War On _______.

No one is going to tolerate the creation of a Kurdistan. We'll do to them what we're doing to Turkey now but with even less effort. We won't even have to do more than lift the phone and make a few phone calls, one to Turkey, one to Iran, one to the new central government of Iraq.

THERE WILL BE NO KURDISTAN!

As far as Iran, we must engage with them in order to utilize the British intel and diplomatic assets and to exploit the restless element among Iranian young people to throw off the dead hand of the mullahs. The result will be a return to something like a parliamentary demoncracy. Perhaps a little better situation than what Turkey currently has. At any rate, it couldn't be worse. And we have to do something about their nuke program no matter what. That cannot be tolerated in the oil patch except for Israel's arsenal.

If it's any consolation, I expect we'll pick up Turkey and Canada and Mexico in our wake. But it would be far better if they had seen the common interest. What we need in this new century are allies that step up to the challenge. Like Britain and New Europe. Hell, like even Spain and Italy did. Even some of the normally hostile Arab states have treated us better than has Turkey and some other regularly allied countries.

I've said it all along. It's a shame that Turkey has done these things. For them, for us.

I think we should be honest with ourselves and accept that the Democrat party and their stalwarts give their allegiance to transnational 'progressive' socialism and not to the United States. Asking for their support is like Charlie Brown asking Lucy to hold the football for him.

I guess my thoughts on your main theme here are that it is fruitless to expect anything constructive or good out of the Democratic Party.

Certainly we may pick up partial support at times from individual Dems who are intelligent enough to realize that their Party has gone very far down the path of irrelevency; but as a group, they can't be trusted or relied upon a bit.

Turkey won't keep any of Iraq.It has completely sabatoged our ability to strangle Baghdad,alienating US.The Kurds distrust them and the EU is pounding on them.What on earth could the Dems do? They enjoy our diplomatic 'failures'.Clinton and Carter? ugh
