The Vast Dubya & DeLay Conspiracy

Depending on where you go and in what circles you travel, conservatives are livid with the Bush administration. Some, more so than others, are furious over the size of the federal budget, the failing to rein in any kind of spending, tax cuts for people who don't pay taxes, the Medicare prescription drug benefit, the list continues - and there’s a great deal of head scratching going on.
I came across an Associated Press story over the weekend that attempts to shed some light on what’s happening, which you can hear me read in the audio links below. However, the story seems to imply there’s a conspiracy between the White House and House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas.
Here’s just one excerpt: “DeLay has become the most identifiable representative of the party's right wing, and the two Texans have had a sometimes scrappy relationship. Clashes may become more frequent as Bush moves beyond his current phase of fund raising among loyal Republicans and shifts his attention to the general electorate, analysts suggest. At the same time, Bush and his advisers are mindful that if they go too far, they could alienate conservatives whose support he needs. ‘Bush is carefully picking and choosing his fights,’ said GOP consultant Scott Reed. ‘There's a healthy back and forth between the White House staff and DeLay that is mutually beneficial to both.’”
The story continues to suggest that Bush is telling DeLay to go ahead and stop what he’s trying to do - on purpose. The idea being that Bush can thus claim credit for supporting whatever measure, while DeLay and other conservatives can point to victory for blocking its ultimate passage. A caller later asked: “Isn't this the same strategy that Bush used on campaign finance reform, only he is counting on the Supreme Court to shoot it down?” You can hear my answer below.
The irony here is that I'm almost old enough to benefit from the prescription drug plan, but I see it as the ruination of our Social Security program and a giant leap toward socialized medicine.
Unlike you, I will state my case. I think many of the people who post anti-Bush stuff are not really conservatives or Republicans, but rather third-party members or democrats who have an interest in dividing Republicans. I didnt thnk that of you until I saw that "I don't think Bush is even a Christian" statement.
One who disagrees on policy would confine himself to attacking the policy. When one jumps into an attack on the man's faith, it indicates to me a blind opposition based on the desire to see Bush lose at whatever cost. Only disgruntled third party people and democrats hold this position, since if Bush were to lose in 2004 he would be replaced by a democrat.
Now, either explain your reasoning on why Bush isn't a Christian, or admit that you are dodging accountability for your previous statement.
If you want to attack me again, go ahead I don't care.

Bush meat -- The Guardian (UK) George Bush Sr., retired Gen Norman Schwarzkopf, and former Vice President Dan Quayle are members of the hunting group Safari Club International and are assisting that group's efforts to persuade the government of Botswana to allow lift a ban on trophy hunting of endangered lions. The ban was instituted in February, when the pool of breeding males -- the animals preferred by trophy hunters -- dropped to dangerously low levels.
Texas trying to recover from Bush -- Associated Press Texas legislators are scrambling to "de-Bush" Texas, by plugging holes in the budget and undoing Bush-era policies. In the past few months, the state has suffered a serious budget shortfall credited to two massive Bush-era tax cuts the then-governor based on projections of budget surpluses that never materialized. The state has also banned new charter schools after years of a Bush-supported push for school privatization.
Scalia Jr. gets nod from Uncle George -- Various Justice Antonin (or Anthony to his good friend Dubya) Scalia led the charge for the US Supreme Court's historic decision to halt vote recounts in Florida and effectively hand the presidency to George W. Bush. Now Scalia's son Eugene is in line to be nominated by Bush to be the top lawyer for the Department of Labor. Eugene's job in a law office where top Bush attorney Ted Olson is a partner was the source of conflict of interest allegations against his father at the time of the recount case; Scalia Sr. dismissed the allegations.

Bush may not seek second term -- Associated Press Maybe he's just teasing, but W seems to be indicating that he hasn't decided whether to run again in 2004. "I'm doing everything I can to keep [my expectations] low," he said.
Fred, that's it in a nutshell.

The article had DUBYA saying that God gave him his marching orders, personally.. Now, believe it or not.. I don't have a huge problem with that.
These things are written about all throughout the bible. God can use anyone and has. Good or bad, doesn't matter. So that's entirely possible, imo.
It then went on and quoted Dubya as saying that he (not God, or with God's assistance, or blessing.. but dubya himself) was going to solve the mideast problem.
Now that's a mistake. If you don't believe me, ask Moses about the dangers of such a boast. And if he said it, then I have very real reservations about him.
But, of course.. as I said before.. It turned out to be a bogus article.
Which you are now using as the cornerstone of your latest "conspiracy"
BTW, think what you want. If you want to think I am a bush hater.. go right ahead.
Much more of his big government, cya, second term, vote buying schemes, and I may get a bumper sticker to that effect just to make it official.

Bush bashing? A trend? Naw, it's bigger than a trend Miss Marple, it's becoming clear this is much larger than a mere trend or minor fad. It's an event, an event that is drawing a whole bunch of real conservatives to an idea of a different party, a party that may decide to put America, it's people and our sovereignty first for a change. A party that's more concerned with our own people and our own borders than those in Outer Mongolia, and a bunch of Somalis.
A party that actually cares about it's people, a party willing to reduce the size of this monstrous, ever growing government, yet keep our military strong. The two beltway parties are driving this country into a ditch IMHO.
This is no passing trend Miss Marple. Trust me, just looking through the daily threads this becomes inordinately clear. The American people are trusting and patient, but those qualities are wearing very thin.
I am now going to go find it, since you won't discuss it but instead seem to want to hide it by putting up false arguments.
Banning partial birth abortion ( INFANTICIDE ! )is only the first step and one which disallows the murder of full term, just about to be born, can survive outside the womb babies.
Better minds than mine have explained, in detail, how the new drug benefit will hasten the privitization of medicare. We can't even begin to resuggest the privatization of Social Security when the markets are in the first blush of excellorating; no, we needs must be in a full throttle BULL market for the public to want that.
Regarding the word " Conservative " ... far too many assume that they are one, but couldn't give you a REAL definition, if their lives depended upon it. :-)
There's nothing "false" about it.. the truth is just not good enough for you, I suppose.
Go find it.. and post it twice if you like.
