Constitution Center Dedicated - Justice O'Connor Nearly Killed
CSPAN | July 4, 2003 | NordP

Posted on 07/04/2003 9:03:58 AM PDT by NordP

At the conclusion of the dedication ceremony of the Constitution Center, today, July 4th, 2003, on stage, a select few were asked to pull the red, white, and blue ribbons, pulling down ceremonial drape... What they pulled down, instead, was quite unexpected. A heavy frame surrounding a mural came crashing down right in front of the first row of these special guests at the ceremony.

The only award O'connor is fit to present would be a hammer and sickle.

Justice O'Connor - that great defender of the Constitution. It's simply miraculous how she can find those "compelling state interests" in there to help her with her rulings.

Perhaps the magic mural frame will enter the legendary lexicon of the Specter Institute of Ballistic Trajectories.

Of course, it's possible the Vast Right-Wing extremists or some lone nut had it in for the constitutional pranksters and loosened the frame hinges. Too bad Earl Warren's not around to investigate. Oh, but Jerry Ford is... [developing]

"The frame fell down and to the right passing over the head of Justice O'Connor, hitting Mayor John Street on the shoulder when it changed directions to the left striking Senator Arlen Specter on the arm before wacking the center's president, Joseph Torsella, on the head. Well, ladies and gentlemen of the jury...that's some mural frame!"

Yep, I bet the dems are working on a tactic right now, to propose that it was a secret plan, formulated by the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy to kill her to replace her with someone who will vote correctly for a change.

Of course it was the VRWC implementing W's order. </sarcasm off

O'Connor is one of the dimmest of the many dim bulbs holding federal judgeships - the very model of an affirmative action beneficiary herself. The Grutter ruling is profoundly destructive. A "compelling state interest" (Diversity in this case) now trumps the equal protection of the laws under the 14th amendment. The 14th amendment is now a dead letter for all but the designated preferred minorities. No doubt this and additional "compelling interests" can be used to abolish the 1st amendment, the 2nd, the 4th, and so on. O'Connor should be impeached for this lawless ruling. It won't happen, of course.

It was Justice O'Connor. Justice O'Connor was heard to say, "We could have all been killed!"

....as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said, "The judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether."
--- Abraham Lincoln

As Washington Redskins running back John Riggins might have said to Justice O'Connor:
"Hey Sandra-baby, get a clue. Somebody up there isn't happy with you!"

I will. Too bad it missed. After last week's ruling, it might be a warning.

Gee. She needs to ask the 500,000 American men who were killed by committing homosexual sodomy whether that would be a bad (or unconstitutional) thing.

New Constitution Center Opens With A Mishap

A morning of pride and patriotism at Philadelphia's new National Constitution Center on Independence Mall ended with a ride to the hospital.
At the same moment Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor pulled the ribbon on the new center, the scenery backdrop fell, striking Mayor John Street and National Constitution Center president Joe Torsella.

Mayor Street was raising his arm at the time of the mishap. He was taken to Jefferson Hospital and fitted with a soft cast. X-rays indicate a fracture.

Joe Torsella was injured in a similar fashion.

Others were also taken to area hospitals.

No serious injuries have been reported.

The National Constitution Center is Philadelphia's newest tourist attraction.

It's an educational site dedicated to explaining the American liberties protected by the Constitution.
