"The way we remember September 11, 2001, will shape our future," says Ms. Long. "We must never forget that tragic day, and we must never forget what got us through it - our courage, our compassion, and our commitment to preserving the American Spirit - that spirit of freedom known to all the world. I hope this work not only memorializes but inspires; not only honors but heals."
Award-winning New York arranger and producer Mark Freeh created the DVD from Ms. Long's poem "Angels Over America." The poem is accompanied by moving arrangements of "America the Beautiful," "Amazing Grace," and "My Country 'Tis of Thee."
The author's non-profit organization, Angels Over America, Inc., seeks to provide moral and economic support to victims of acts of cruelty, injustice and terrorism against the United States of America, epitomized by the horrific events of 9/11. "We plan to accomplish this by producing works of art that provide perspective, vision and exaltation of the human spirit," says Ms. Long.
Carolyn Long is a professional speaker, communications expert and writer based in Columbia, MD.
