The previous Mormon "prophet", Gordon B. Hinckley, who was Beck's "prophet" before dying a few years ago, told Beck & other Mormons to play down the cross:
"But for us, the cross is the symbol of the dying Christ, while our message is a declaration of a Living Christ" (Hinckley, "The Symbol of our Faith," official Lds publication Ensign, April 2005 p. 3)
The cross in Mormonism is simply shunned. That's why you can't find a single cross adorned on any single Mormon ward, stakehouse, temple or other facility.
The division Beck is causing is having Christians step up in defense of Mormonism and against Christians that try to raise the flag of warning and awareness.

You never actually gave an answer, by the way the Vatican is very clear that Mormonism is not Christian, if that matters to you as a Roman Catholic.
