Most Catholics vote for baby killing Democrats anyway because they want their politicians to steal as much as possible to spread around the wealth.

You base that absurd generalization on what empirical data?

One of the negative aspects of our Republic is that a simpleton like you is allowed to vote.

What politicians SAY and what they DO have historically and frequently been at odds.... their religious affiliations notwithstanding.

Many people understand that, though Nancy Pelosi calls herself Catholic, she does not follow the Teachings of the Church. This is, unfortunately the case with others as well....including those who simply call themselves “Christians” (think Obama). This is due in great part to the evil of relativism.

However, many sincere religious people make decisions based on their beliefs. Therefore we need to be careful not to categorically state that “it has been proven...that....they do not.”

Marco Rubio is a case in point. I don’t know why he is (or IF he is) no longer attending the Catholic Church. However, I am convinced that he is a good man, a moral man and is informed in his decision-making by Christ. As a Catholic, I will, of COURSE, pray for him to return to the fullness of the faith (if it be the case that he is away), leaving my request in God’s hands. In the meantime, Rubio’s perspective on what is good for this nation is excellent and I will also pray for his success and wisdom in the Senate....and that he and the rest will be protected from the pervasive cultural influence of DC.

You said: Would it be too hard to say “I’ve quit the Catholic Church and now attend a pentecostal church”?

“Christ Fellowship is aligned doctrinally and cooperatively in missions locally, nationally, and globally with the Southern Baptist Convention.”

As is my church, southern BAPTIST.

Well folks is he going to be better than Crist?

I think thats a resounding YES... so thank you move along!

It would be nice if he came back to the fullness of truth found in the Church, but I would rather have a devoted protestant than some liberal any day, so it seems this mole hill is gaining too much stature...

I think what is said here is that a lot of Hispanics are not impressed with liberal American Catholicism.

I remember when a Latin mass was first allowed in a church in Phoenix. Used to a modest turn out, they were overwhelmed, swamped with Catholics who had not been to church in years. Even invalids clinging to life were brought there so they could experience it once more.

Old Mexican women, wearing clothes that were almost burqas, not even worn to church in rural Mexico for many years, along with their entire families.

Just make up your mind what you are and tell people the truth.

The church one claims and the church one attends don't have to match. There are many times in peoples lives where they are in transition, or for some reason prefer the to attend something that they don't 100% agree with. I regularly go to a Protestant church even though I am catholic. So what? Sometimes the only church of your particular flavor that is nearby does not offer the fellowship you desire. There are times people attend places without agreeing with ever point of doctrine.

Maybe he’s one of those people who think of Catholic as an ethnic group. I knew a guy like that. He thought he was Catholic because his family was Catholic but he attended a protestant church.

Totally incorrect. No religion is an ethnic group, religion is a decision and a behavioral practice, not a race. Even when I consider religions such as Judaism or Islam, people are only part of those religions if they practice them. Annoys me like nothing else.

I’m one of those who believes that anyways.

That's exactly the issue. It was an election, remember? And now what's relevant is how he votes as Senator.

IOW, whatever it takes to get our man the job?

When I'm reading a job applicant's CV, I like to see full disclosure and truthfulness.

I’m with you but lots of people believe in the ethnic group category. Most Jews I know aren’t religious and many Catholics are more adherents to a Catholic culture than to the Catholic religion. Ask them what they are, they’re Jews and Catholics.

Our new Governor-elect Marco Rubio is Florida’s, as you are in Georgia, just how does this effect you?

I think this is a silly, mute point.

If you are Catholic, you are not allowed to step foot into the doorway of another denomination?

If he is worshiping Jesus, who cares? Like another poster said, at least he is not a Muslim claiming that he is a Christian, like someone else we know, ahem.

“I’m with you but lots of people believe in the ethnic group category. Most Jews I know aren’t religious and many Catholics are more adherents to a Catholic culture than to the Catholic religion. Ask them what they are, they’re Jews and Catholics.”

Well, I certainly believe and classify people by what they do, regardless of how they classify themselves. If someone does not practice Judaism, they are not a Jew to me. If someone does not practice Catholicism, they are not Catholic to me either. I am well aware that the belief is widespread that does not agree with me, but that is my decision and belief that I have, and if there is to be some kind of common sense, it can start with someone, such as say, you or I.

It’s also true that God will test who is truly Christian,Jewish, etc.. The “decisions” and committments will be tested, and tested well.

I cannot argue with a thing you’ve said. It just shows that believers have much work to do among the lukewarm members of their congregations.

Rubio was elected to the United States Senate, not the Governor's office.

Please tell me you didn't vote.
