Quite the little anti-Chrisitian (specifically) and athiest bigot aren’t we?

If you don’t understand religion, you attack people who open religious inquiry.

".. should FR start to get flooded with threads debating the merits of Christianity? that’s what you’re doing here." sten
No, you mischaracterize for your own personal reasons, eh? The merits of Christianity are not at issue. It is the faux merits of Mormonism that are at issue. If you understand neither of these religions, perhaps you would be more comfy stepping away from this thread. Have you an aversion to Christianity and do you get an uncomfy feeling when The Grace of God in Christ is ny thee?

"... and if it’s your duty to attack any religion that is teaching against the bible... then why aren’t you in afghanistan or iran?" sten

You're really big on strawmen and twisted hyperbole. But have you ever even read the New Testament and what Jesus commanded of those who trust in Him as their Soter/Deliverer?

"... sitting at your keyboard pumping out anti-mormon dribble is an obvious push to split the conservative base" sten

Um, if you ever read the New Testament, there is a term Christians use that you might want to pause over: it's 'the great commission'.

"... oh, and congratulations on being a religious bigot" sten

As our self-appointed judge, aren't you indulging in a bit of bigotry, especially since you seem to understand so little of Mormonism or Christianity?

they don’t believe that Jesus is fully God and fully man, the second person of the Trinity, who voluntarily suffered and died as a sacrifice for the sins of the world and rose from the dead and ascended to His Father in heaven.

Mormons have been told by the LDS inc leadership that they are christians ... well, at least recently. A few deacdes ago calling a Momron a Christian would have been an insult taken by the Mormon. You don’t happen to be a Mormon, do ya? ... Do you really know what Jesus taught about Himself, about The One True God, and about false prophets and false religions and the traps snaring people into a plummet into Hell? Try reading a few of the above quotes I listed from your leadership, then get back to us about this thing of Mormonism being touted as Christianity.

There are a lot of Non-Mormons out there that apparently hold the opinion that calling on Jesus and believing in one's heart in Christ rising from the dead makes one a Christian.

For example on another thread I was informed by a gentleman that Romans 10:9 in effect covers everything: It says, according to him: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

By the above test a Mormon would be saved, anything else would be irrelevant. There are a lot of Chriatians that hold mere subjective beleief is sufficient for salvation. To me believing that doctrine places ones sould in danger. I am not Mormon, Joseph Smith was a false prophet consumed with lust, vanity and greed. That is plain history weighed against scripture.

Insults. All you got — as usual for shallow atheist, anti-Christian bigots like you.

You can’t answer my questions so you just spend all your posts in ad hominem. You have been shown to be intellectually vapid, religiously bankrupt, Constitutionally ignorant, and argumentatively empty.

You have yet to address a single issue I have made to you, but continue to have tantrum after tantrum.

If I was you, I would go after ad hominem as well, since that us all “I” (as you) would have.

But if I was you, “I” (as you) would have left the the discussion before my first post. Or after the first post “I” (as you) realized I was unable to properly respond to.

Stick with the ad hominem — we can all see your posts and all see it is all you have.

Fair enough.

It does make sense to keep things in front of people’s eyes.

But keep it within a context is clearly almost impossible. I’ll keep trying logic but I think you can see it is failing, badly.

A lot of Xns seem to think that their sect is the one and only true Church of Christ, and members of other sects are apostates or worse. Instead of focusing on this stupid, bigoted sectarian bullwash, perhaps Xns should be asking a different question. Perhaps they should be looking in the mirror and saying, "Am *I* truly following the teachings of Christ? Do I really even understand his teachings?"

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

“They believe in Jesus as the Son of God. That’s all you need.”

Admit it — you didn’t read Mr. Kimball’s statement, did you?

“”One of the most fallacious doctrines originated by Satan and propounded by man is that man is saved alone by the grace of God; that belief in Jesus Christ alone is all that is needed for salvation,” (Miracle of Forgiveness, Spencer W. Kimball, p. 206)””

"Questioning a person’s religion is attacking the core beliefs of that person. otherwise known as religious persecution."

That's factually incorrect. "Questioning" is not attacking and is not persecuting.

You say in your personal info, that you are "100% against everything the left turns out." Does that include left-wingers' religion? That's OK. And it's your right to say so.

Every topic thread on Free Republic involves questioning somebody's "core beliefs," whether those core beliefs are religious or political or social or philosophical.

We hope (or I sincerely hope) that people will do their questioning in a reasonable and civil manner, open to evidence, treating others with courtesy, and employing common decency. But in any case, "questioning" is not against our Constitutional principles. In fact, it is protected by the First Amendment.

But this is evidently one of your core beliefs.

And yes, I'm questioning it.

And now I'm going to bed. Good evening to you.

Finding LDS not Christian isn’t an attack — it is just finding it, factually, not Christian.

..so what do Mormons say ...go ask one ...and be done with this silliness .

- - - - - -
Well Mormons would say it isn’t ‘Son of Man’ but rather ‘son ahman’ (not kidding). And that Jesus was a created being, not always God, who is the spirit brother of Lucifer (and barely beat Lucifer out to be ‘savior’), whose physical body was created by God the Father having sex with Mary, who didn’t NEED to die to pay for sin (that happened in the Garden), he just died to be resurrected to prove we would all be resurrected, and that he earned his Godhood because he lived a perfect moral life and showed that we could all become Gods.

I’ll agree its silliness, but it also cements Mormons as not being Christians. And yes, I can source all of those teachings with LDS sources.
