why can’t you answer who are heirs to the promises made to Abraham?

that’s like asking me does Jesus understand saved people who reject Jesus and His sacrificial death. they don’t exist and neither do these “dispensations” you imagine.

Why don’t you tell me what the promises that were made to Abraham were? What exactly did the Abrahamic Covenant consist of? Your answer will answer your own question.

LOL, didn’t your mother ever tell you, you can’t answer a question with a question?

i think we all understand why you won’t answer who the heirs are, it doesn’t quite fit the “dispensational” fantasies.

LOL Not according to scripture. You haven’t explained when the destruction of Damascus happens. Better read Isaiah 17 because there are prophecies that haven’t happened yet.

i don’t know what to say to someone who makes the same mistake the Jews of Jesus day made, specifically not realizing the Scriptures are spiritual and the OT is full of types and shadows pointing towards the coming of the Messiah.
but the natural man can’t understand these things unless the Holy Spirit gives him the eyes of faith.

LOL! You don't understand that it DOES INDEED fit the dispensational truths. Abraham was promised that through him God would make a great nation, and would bless him, and make his name great, and he would be a blessing. And God said He would bless them that blessed him and curse them that cursed him, and in him all the nations of the earth would be blessed.

And what do you know..we are heirs to the promises made to Abraham by God, because we have believed. And as such, we are blessed. Not as the "new Israel" but as the recipients of the finished work of Christ, Israel's Messiah, and our Lord, the head of the church the Body of Christ.

Now, it's time to put up or shut up. Did Christ know or not know of dispensations and rightly dividing God's word of truth? You must know you are about to be hoisted on your own petard. Because I wouldn't ask the question if I did not have proof. So you are calling dispensations "fantasies". Christ would beg to differ.

what about these “dispensations” don’t exist don’t you understand?

since you are the “dispensation” expert, give me from the Scriptures the name of each “dispensation” and the years this particular “dispensation” existed. let’s see what you got!!

What “years this particular dispensation existed” are you referring to? THe one that about to hoist you, or the one we are now living in? Specificity is our friend.

>>the OT is full of types and shadows pointing towards the coming of the Messiah.<<

Well, let’s take one of those so called “types and shadows” you claim the Old Testament is.

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

What “types and shadows” was that verse talking about?

go on, hoist me. list the first dispensation, when it existed, when it ended. then give me the second dispensation, same beginning and ending dates. how many dispensation are there 8, 34, 54??
throw me in the briar patch.

perfect example - 70 weeks = 490 days. if this passage is to be taken literally, we should be calculating a 490 day period.
do you believe this passage is talking about 490 days or is the 70 weeks a type or shadow of a different time period?

You search the Scriptures, to see if these things are so. You seem so SMART in your Scriptural understandings, so far.lol! I won't rob you of this time in God's Word. BTW: you never answered my original question: Did Jesus Christ know about dispensations and did He know about rightly dividing God's Word of Truth? 2 Tim. 2:15.

Good luck and come back when you REALLY want to know the answer...

you keep asking me about whether Jesus knows something that doesn’t exist. Let’s see, yes since Jesus is the Word of God, He knows about rightly dividing it. whether He knows about fictional dispensations, i’m not sure, does God know things that don’t exist? He knows everything, but if something doesn’t exist, it doesn’t exist.

you are true to your MO, namely talking a big game about hoisting me on my own petard, but when challenged to name these fictional dispensations from the Scriptures, you run away. here is your big chance to school all these unbelievers in “dispensationalism” and you take a powder!!
i have yet to see any list of the dispensations with the years attached, why is that?

>> The Scriptures do not teach this dispensational nonsense.<<

Was there a change in spoken of in Romans 6:14?

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

You say there are no dispensations?

Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

Now, remember Romans 6:14?

Ephesians 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

Notice how Romans 6:14 and Ephesians 3:2 sorta disagree with your contention about “dispensational nonsense”? Maybe you should read scripture instead of listening to those who obviously don’t.

LOL, what did you do search for the word “dispensation” in the Scriptures?
we both know dispensationalism we are discussing deals with Israel, the Church, the Kingdom, prophecy, etc. etc.

OK, looks like I will have to read over this thread. Hopefully it won't have ballooned to 300 acrimonious posts by the time I get to it.

In the explanation I tend to follow, Daniel's seventy sevens begins at the end of a (round) 70 years of exile, and represents (with some corroboration from intertestamental Jewish texts, though I'd have to dig through my references for it. I remember seeing it noted in Beale, The Temple and the Church's Mission) ten jubilees. An ideal time, ending in the coming of Messiah and the consummation of all things.

The dispys are, as usual, wildly wrong on account of bad starting assumptions.

I didn’t think I would get a straight answer. The 70 weeks represent 490 years of which there are 7 yet unfulfilled. See how easy that was to answer if you a person knows scripture?

Everyone is saved by grace through faith.

Tell hyper-Dispensationalist John Hagee that. He firmly believes that Israel doesn't need Christ.
