I’m not Catholic, but count me in.
Perhaps with Obama and Holder, the Catholics may have to experience something more akin to that experienced by the Christians and the Roman Lions.
Yep. IT's time to stand up for the Republic.
Please give us sympathetic Protestants enough advance notice so we can break-in our marching shoes before we join you.
“Yep. It’s time to stand up for the Republic.”
And the sovereignty of God.
We are a Republic, not a Theocracy, but we are a Republic under God. Any ruler who is not fully aware that he is accountable to God for his actions and his stewardship has a difficult time controlling mankind’s natural proclivity toward selfishness, greed and tyranny. Dictatorship & despotism soon follow.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. John Adams
To incense Notre Dame to this point must take something pretty bad.
Ditto.
Didn’t I read yesterday that many ‘sympathetic Protestant’ churches are joining in with the Catholics on the 14-day protest against this regime? June 21 to July 4. Freedom is Freedom and Loving Christ is Loving Christ.
So we are all in with the Catholics but what does that entail? Civil disobedience when, where and how. We all don’t buy health insurance and when fined don’t pay the fine? Is that the specifics of it?
This time the bishops really seem to mean it. There will be a time of study and prayer between the feasts of two Christian martyrs who stood up to the tyrant Henry VIII and the Fourth of July, which marks America's Independence Day, which stood up to George III in the name of certain Inalienable Rights, including the God-given right to life.
It will be interesting to see if the priests around the country will follow through on this, aside from putting the bishops' statement into the parish bulletins for everyone to take home with them. Will they preach sermons on this, and hold retreats and discussions? I sure hope so. Because our religious freedom really is at stake.
The First Amendmend and the Right to Life are both at stake.
It's a good propaganda move, too, comparing this proposed March for life and freedom to the days of Martin Luther King as well as to Thomas More. That should help defuse the usual charges of racism.
I have to wonder - why haven’t ALL Catholic schools and colleges joined in these lawsuits? Why haven’t all Catholic hospitals joined in them?
Do you wonder if ANY protestant schools, colleges, charities or hospitals will file amicus curiae briefs?
Here we go!!
It’s possible others will join in later.
The Detroit Lions? That would be CRUEL!.....LOL!
Any link to the Bishops’ video ad on defending freedom, life, liberty, and marriage this November?
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) website has information on the “Fortnight...”, and many protestants are well engaged and well informed, standing quite at the ready to join in.
Protestants know how to protest, and I say that with great affection for protestants, as I “were one”, most of my life. (Charasmatic, evangelical at that!) :)
Love to all who will protest.
God be with us, and US with Him.
