Really? I wonder if you might be living in Oz. when my mormon aunt the wife of a bishop was in ICU for weeks, my uncle received NO help from his ward. (or from the rest of the mormon family members) He had four teenagers at home. Nothing zip nada - NO HELP. They lost everything. Not one love offering not a meal (except a pizza on Thanksgiving).

Not to be offensive, but how do you know that? Except by faith and trust?

In the Bible, Jesus says "I am the way, the truth and the light; no one comes to the Father except through me". But Jesus did not write the Bible, even though we believe it is indeed the Word of God.

The Bible was written by men (maybe women, too, not that they would get credit for it back in those days, although the Marys, Ruth & Esther at the very least must have contributed)...the point being that some truths seem "self-evident", BUT, the same is true for people who practice religions other than Christianity.

People have many different belief systems and practices of religion, even within the Christian denominations, and it's not for me to judge anyone except by their actions. I do not believe God or Jesus would deny salvation or heaven to anyone who had led an exemplary life in the Gospel, however "inadvertently" if they were not "Christian", according to the various Church rubrics.

BTW, I am not an Oprah fan by any stretch, or a fan of "theology lite"...I am just a fan of freedom of religion. People who do right and walk justly in their earthly life will be judged by God, not by you or me. In the same way, I think we can only judge people by their actions, not their religious tenets. Evangelizing is good work, but only if you keep it in a bigger perspective sometimes?
