Personally I would prefer to elect congressmen and senators with the guts to repeal Obama (i.e., impeach the tyrant).
Romney has a track record of being just as much of a tyrant as Obama (only on a limited scale).

The optics of the week long Romney vacation were all wrong for a prospective President of the United States.
But the optics of the week long Romney vacation were all right for a prospective Prophet of the Mormon Church.
After all, is there a more prominent Mormon in the world today than Mitt Romney? If Romney would be the richest President in American history wouldn’t he also be the richest Prophet in Mormon history?
Take a good look at the photo op of the Romney clan on the power boat. Does it look like a future god in embryo with all of his spirit children on the planet Kolob?

Consider this: If Romney has to slug his way to the nomination at a brokered convention only to get clobbered by the MSM and Obama’s Chicago thugs in the fall campaign, where is the profit for the Mormon Church? There would be only loss and the threat of the Mormon Church being irretrievably broken.
Would a devout Mormon such as Mitt Romney rather be the POTUS [a ‘profane’ office of limited national jurisdiction] or Prophet [a ‘holy’ office of world-wide jurisdiction]?
Can there be a better poster child for the Mormon Church than Mitt Romney is today?
If Mitt Romney were to drop out of the POTUS race, release his delegates to vote their conscience in Tampa and assume the office of the Mormon Prophet, would the Public Relations of the Mormon Church be enhanced?

These three issues were not of major concern to the GOP-e or to Goldwater simply because they were either not relevant to getting anyone elected, or were simply too complex to work with.
It took us until Ronald Reagan to get a comprehensive Conservative in place who could stand behind anti-communism, pro-Americanism, fiscal responsibility, and getting the Supreme Court in order so we could roll-back their tom foolishness on the very personal issue of religion.
Of course, by that time the Court was slaughtering babies, which is probably why you've forgotten about the other issues where they screwed with the schools.

Technically speaking -- due to the electoral system -- people living in certain states are ALREADY "disenfranchised."
For example, if you live in WA, OR, CA, Nevada, Illinois, NY, NJ, Maryland, D.C. or some New England states, a vote for Romney won't help beat Obama in those states.
And frankly, if you live in most Western states; most Midwestern states; all Southern states (except FL)...your vote against Obama won't mean anything more...Obama stands 0% chance to win in those states.
So...if the argument would be consistent...you'd have to admit that "franchisement" ONLY exists in genuine swing states.
