My mind would boggle if I had any boggles left.
Cardinal Dolan, head of the USCCB and the ostensible leader of the fight against the unholy Obamacare mandates, admits that his own Diocese directly pays for employee health plans that cover contraception and abortion. Yes, the Cardinal Dolan and the Archdiocese of NY pay for the killing of children. Their excuse? They do it under protest.
Well, I am sure that will make the dead babies feel better to know that they were killed 'under protest.'

But even as Cardinal Dolan insists that requiring some religiously affiliated employers to pay for contraception services would be an unprecedented, and intolerable, government intrusion on religious liberty, the archdiocese he heads has quietly been paying for such coverage, albeit reluctantly and indirectly, for thousands of its unionized employees for over a decade.I am sure the usual suspects will try to explain this away, these are Union rules, he inherited it, he has no choice.
The Archdiocese of New York has previously acknowledged that some local Catholic institutions offer health insurance plans that include contraceptive drugs to comply with state law; now, it is also acknowledging that the archdiocese’s own money is used to pay for a union health plan that covers contraception and even abortion for workers at its affiliated nursing homes and clinics.
“We provide the services under protest,” said Joseph Zwilling, a spokesman for the Archdiocese of New York.

Our clergy (with few exceptions) appear to no longer really believe in anything.
My priest sent me a similar article this morning. No surprise, he said; Dolan is a fragile reed indeed, as he concluded in conversations with him last year.
Let no one be deceived by Dolan’s charm. He’s weak on homosexuality, weak on abortion, weak on liberalism. Any man who can giggle with Obama is highly questionable as an archbishop.
Does anyone think Fulton Sheen would take this fun-loving approach to gays in the Church and forking out Church monies for the murder of children?
It still makes him look like a liar and foolish for how he went on about his resistance to the new healthcare law. It makes the public think that Christian opposition to the mande is pure hypocrisy.
unless there’s no way out of doing this, this answer is not good enough. the Church needs to find another insurance policy that doesn’t kill babies etc

I’ve been very disappointed in Dolan.
Sadly it’s become all too easy to understand the Catholic Church by following the advice of Woodward and Bernstein.

Dolan is a man and a Cardinal. Pray for him. Those of you who have full understanding of his motives and the details he weighed, cast the stone that will kill him, you sinless hypocrites.
He probably fights satan better and more often before noon each day than you have in your lifetime.
Question him and move to the next fight against satan in your life while he deals again with this one.
Just sayin’.

That you make excuses for his *sin* — not so much.
His yucking it up with barry was the end for me.
There is NO excuse in my book, none.
He is weak.

Yeah right that is why Cardinal Dolan helped the devil we have sitting in the white hut get elected . Cardinal Dolan is nothing but a twisted politician hiding behind a collar.

Your attitude and low expectations, along with the social gospel liberals, are a primary reason we have such ineffective shepherds.
In our church we can remove our leaders when they jump the shark and likewise they can leave if the congregation does.
“Paying under protest” is still paying for murder. Cardinal Dolan should not be allowing the Diocese or any parish to have any part of that. That is getting into murdering some to take care of some others. Doesn’t wash.
He is making judgements based on relative good. That’s for politicians and others who lack firm principles.
