No where has it entered theis discussion on the rites of a funeral.
oh puh-leeze Bayard...
ya diggin a hole now ... I just hope someone doesn’t rob you on the way down ... and your battlefield comparison logic is greatly lacking too ... but I guess the thing that bothers me the most is that your allegiance to he who does such an act has clouded your judgement about the total act in itself.
I can’t help to wonder if you are a criminal defense lawyer now too ... and you know Baynard ... we all make mistakes, and we all have fallen short of the glory of God, but excusing those mistakes is a even greater mistake.
Yes, because OBVIOUSLY we're talking about a finger, instead of the symbol of faith which these two men shared, and dedicated their whole lives to proclaim.
I was pointing out it is not even a tradition to ‘take’ things from a casket. But it matters not because once again, Francis is just misunderstood or a hit piece for the media.
First rule of "holes" stop digging. I was addressing the morality of taking anything from a casket.
Remember this is the lamestream AP. Do you really think they are telling the truth?
And if the Pope confessed it during the Sacrament of Reconciliation it is forgiven.
Its amazing that you would offer peace to me in the same breath that you mock my Pope. And your citation about stealing is a bit fuzy, when property is not something we can take with us in death.
Not typical etiquette for wakes. I hope this incident isn't the beginning of a new trend.
Catholicism never fails to disappoint.
The most outrageous act can be done by a Catholic and some other Catholics will come along and defend or excuse it away.
The biggest challenge is to figure out just what form that excuse is going to take.
No, you were addressing the morality of stealing, of which would apply to theft from a body in a casket. I'm telling you this has circumstances which change the nature of the act. In this case, a friend, comrade and confessor, as opposed to your hyperbolic nonsensical extremes.
A Soldier, in the midst of war taking ammo from his dead friend?
a. The ammo belongs to the government, not the dead buddy.
b. If the living didn’t take the ammo he might well die in the next few minutes.
I’m sure your Pope had a rosary or tow laying around.
He is a covetous thief. And you follow him.
A. The cross of a religious belongs to God. A1. If he is religious he has no possessions.
b. Salvation is a matter of life and death. Since this was the nature of the motive we’re not talking about dissimilar items.
It never fails.
Step one, misinterpret something in order to incite hatred against Catholics
Step two, feel reassured in being better than them.
Now, hopefully one can understand why I refuse to subscribe to any religion at all...........
I can't believe this crap goes on within a self professed religious community..........
The guy may have been hoping to show up at the pearly gates with the religious hardware in tow...Otherwise, how are they going to recognize him...
Again, I’m sure he had his own set of magical beads.
We need Jesus, not voodoo.
Not all religious orders take vows of poverty. Do you know what order, if any, this deceased priest belonged to?
“Step one, misinterpret something in order to incite hatred against Catholics”
************
Now please stop all that nonsense Bayard.
Nobody has incited anyone to hate Catholics.
If that was true, I would have to hate my own family.
Like my mom use to say to me growing up ...
“I love you, I just don’t like your ways”.
I think the same goes with all of us.
But I have to be honest though on the fact that I just hate “religion” period ... and yea ... I believe in the Holy Word of God, I just don’t believe in all these institutions and leaders that teach it.
Different strokes for different folks I reckon.
Like I told someone awhile back, I’ll just get to the end of the line, and let all those righteous religious folks go first, while I wait on the Good Shepherd to lead the Way.
I still love you too Bayard, I’m just not in agreement, that’s all ... smiles
Even if he confessed, he's not forgiven if he's unrepentant; and he appears to be not only unrepentant, he's actually boasting about his thievery. Who else deliberately destroys a rosary and leaves a priest to be buried with a broken one? I consider that person to be a selfish thief who has no respect for the dead.
