“Gender” refers to one’s felt, and societally constructed, sense of being male, female, or somewhere in between. As understood by a generation of psychologists, sociologists, and other scientists, it is distinct from sex, which has to do with biology, genitalia, and genetics. Put roughly, sex is between your legs. Gender is between your ears.

Actually, World War T has broken out just as the science is turning decisively negative. Funny world.
I found this point scientifically interesting; if it can be proved, it begs for awareness so that women will not continue to be prescribed these drugs if they damage the fetus. Many of us suspect that Big Pharma’s marketing plans are often guided by agendas other than pure betterment of mankind.
I hope that none of you have drawn an inference that I am on the side of gender confusion as a political cause célèbre because I replied to the guy in detail — particularly because he said he perceives most Christians to be intolerant.
In replying to him at post 75, I did make it clear that I defend the rights of Christians to reject "born that way" as a reason to accept behaviors that are unacceptable to the natural family. I also laid out the rules of FR in a similar wordy way to the way he had communicated with me. And I rejected entirely his theory of Jesus associated with the art history video he linked.
After examining a photo of him online at another site in which he appears a relatively normal male in his dress and grooming, I thought it would be better to discuss it with him point for point in case he truly is seeking spiritual answers. If he is right that he was born gender confused because his mother was given drugs, then his challenge goes deeper than that of the run-of-the-mill hedonist. I advised him to draw a clear difference between his situation and that of the psychologically confused activists.
Not everyone has the good fortune to grow up in the church, especially in UK, which is now almost rabidly anti-Christian in many quarters. People who don’t know Christ and aren’t in the Word may feel sad or abandoned about why God would allow such a thing — and the chance to be saved may only happen if someone takes the time to share the gospel with them.
When he posted again today his confused beliefs about God, I would have answered him in the same polite way he has been posting to me, unless I were absolutely sure he was just trying to bait the hook and laugh. If he truly was born disordered due to a hormone given to his mother, his situation is different from the run-of-the-mill hedonist activist, and if the gentle words of a Christian could reach him, I thought I'd try.
I might have preferred for Jim to tell me to take it off the Forum to FReepmail until I was sure he was merely trolling. I'm still not so sure.
