Agreed. But given the climate and his past comments, it’s getting to the point where you see a headline and think, “here we go again” rather than “this can’t be true”.

Yah'shua did not come to start a new religion. He did not come to start the Presbyterian, Baptist or Roman church.
He came to return His people to His WORD.
Later to share His WORD with the Nations.

Never heard of a Hindu who was the least bit confused by the mystery of the Trinity. They might not completely understand the difference between hypostasis and material manifestations of Godhead [avatars, incarnations and the like] but the concept is not alien to them.
Muslims, on the other hand, are completely baffled by the idea, referring to three gods, divided gods, and other idiocy having nothing to do with Trinitarian Doctrine.
They're also confused about who Mary is, because "The Profit" himself had no idea.

Dont forget Rahab, prostitute AND non-Jew turned descendant of Jesus. She seemed to be of a pretty high moral character to do what she did. What was she doing with all of those flax plants on her roof?

As much as this pope causes dismay among orthodox Catholics, this article is so full of it that no one, even the most ardent anti-Catholic bigot, can possibly take it seriously. We'll see.
If the pope said it; it WILL be sourced in many places; some even authentic.

He did not say what they said he said.Wow!
Just like the Magisterium tells us the Scriptures do not say what they plainly say.

There are not a hundred people in America who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions of people who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church which is, of course, quite a different thing.

There are not a hundred people in America who dishonor the Virgin Mary. There are millions of people who hate what the Catholic Church falsely teaches about her which is, of course, quite a different thing.

I think its fairly obvious that some people are so consumed with hatred for the Roman Catholic Church that theyll believe anything, ....so long as it confirms their anti-Catholic beliefs. I think its fairly obvious that some people are so consumed with hatred for ProtestantISM that theyll believe anything, ....so long as it confirms their anti-Protestant beliefs.
The religion forum is overflowing with them.

Since the SOURCE is AUTHENTIC; I'll have to assume what is posted there is as well:
Even the Mother, 'the New Eve', as Paul himself calls her, in order to participate in her Sons journey, learned, suffered and obeyed.
Any of you well catechized Catholics want to show us poor deluded Prots just WHERE Paul said this?

Heck; at this point in time; I’d settle for some TRADITION where Paul said such a thing.

He didn’t say it. Its conjecture about conjecture about what he did say.
But that won’t stop anti-Catholic bigots from glomming onto it.
To: Elsie
It’s an extrapolation from I Corinthians, wherein Paul describes Jesus Christ as the second or last Adam. I’ve always been puzzled by the awkwardness of this, as Eve was Adam’s mate, not his mother.
To: Elsie
No problem.
Since the question wasn’t answered anyway, it does no harm to ask it again.
Although, it won’t be answered this time either.

There’s lots of extrapolation by people who want to find Scripture to support their doctrine but can’t.

“Any of you well catechized Catholics want to show us poor deluded Prots just WHERE Paul said this?”
It has to do with what St. Paul said about the New Adam (Christ) in Romans 5:12-21 and 1 Corinthians 15:22-49. If Pope Francis made the comment at all, he made it much the same way Matthew cites the prophets in Matthew 2:23. They never actually said what Matthew says they said in so many words. It is an idea taken from something else they said that agrees with the text.
