>> ...some entities in [some numbered] Trinity are “not at Godhead Level” but they might be “even promoted” there soon... This is the kind of confused baloney you get from Muslims

Sounds Hindu pantheistic to me. The Muslims claim One True (snicker) god. (The little g is on purpose.)

Notice, they don’t attack the Methodists or the Baptists or even the liberal churches who fail to try to protect God’s Word and actually teach immorality. It is Catholics and they attack us for the same reason that atheists attack Christianity because God and the Catholic Church aren’t made in their own image/opinion.

What the heck is the “second Holy Trinity”?

You'd have to ask the theologians at the International Business Times.

Without the Virgin Mary there would be no Mother Church.

Jesus also descended from Abraham as he was descended from Mary.

So why isn't Abraham revered like Mary is?

I had to check this “theological dissertation” out! Wow. It was a trigger to say the least. Anyway, in my “bing” search for “the mysterious woman of Revelation 17” I found a site that defined the woman as the church of the reformation.

www.bibleexplained.com/revelation/r-seg17-18/r17a.htm

Being a non-denominational Christian I guess that means me?

I personally did not find anything in those remarks that elevates her to the level of God.

Having read through the article several times, the mangled wording has me convinced that the article is a bad translation of a foreign-language article. Either that, or the article is a retranslation back into English from a foreign publication.

Change the phrase "second trinity" to "second person of the Trinity" (i.e. Mary replaces Jesus' position as Redeemer) and the article reads much clearer. The key phrase in the article is here:

Pope Francis said the Virgin Mary is one with the church. Without her Jesus Christ would not have been born and introduced into Christian lives. Without the Virgin Mary there would be no Mother Church....Now The End Begins claims Pope Francis' reflection on the Virgin Mary suggests people's hope is not Jesus Christ but the Mother Church.

Who said he isn't? But Mary is Jesus’s mother. Proximity!

I do NOT believe a word of this is true. It sounds like something that would be published in The Onion.

Oh, he DOES? Chapter and verse?

Waiting for some Catholic to provide the Scripture reference for that statement should be interesting......

How about addressing the article instead of attacking the messenger?

Show us how what He stated is taken out of context.

Otherwise, we can presume that since you went right for the jugular in attacking the man, that what he stated was accurate because you attacked him first instead of refuting what he said.

Notice how every single Catholic who has posted on the thread so far has not at all addressed the substance of the article and refuted any of it, but rather engaged in pejoratives of *hate*, *anti*, *bigot* instead?

Must be the article hit close to home. If they had anything to refute it with, they would have used it. Since they didn’t, they resorted to attacking the messenger thinking they can invalidate the message through defamation of character.

The site claims..

Unfortunately for the veracity of "the site," the pope remains Catholic.

Yes, but Abraham's faith made it possible to create Israel from which both Mary and Jesus came about. What about Noah who endured so much ridicule then took on the enormous task he was given?

Ridiculous to give Mary so much credit when there are so many saints who obeyed God. Weird actually.

Don’t forget Rahab, prostitute AND non-Jew turned descendant of Jesus.

Not such a pure bloodline that many assume.

Also, Ruth who was a Moabite )which means King David was partly Moabite).

But this only signifies that God has always intended Gentiles to be part of His people, a reality which blossomed under Paul.
